I bought a promo pack for the Sixers which was a 4 game discounted package. The games were already set so I couldn't pick the games I wanted. The tickets were below face value and I'm a Sixers fan so I figure good deal. The games I can't go to I can just sell off below face value at the price I purchased them for.
I can't make the game against the Raptors coming up. My buddy who calls himself a hardcore Sixers fan is the perfect guy to pick up these tickets. He can afford to go to games too, but funny that I never actually ever hear of him going to games unless he gets complimentary tickets. So, I call him up and ask if he wants a great deal on tickets below face value. He asks who they're playing against. I tell him the Raptors. He says no and that he'll only go to games if it's the Lakers, Heat, Chicago, or New York. I call him a frontrunner and not to keep calling himself a "hardcorefan".
Am I right for thinking that?

Meh, could just be a guy that when he goes to the game wants more bang for his buck (for things besides the cost of the tickets) when he goes to games.

Sports tickets are so overpriced and the only way to counteract this is to stop purchasing them. If there is no demand for these ridiculous prices then they'll have no choice but to lower them. I don't know about you guys, but in todays economy I can't afford it. Worry about getting a job, keeping a job. Nothing is secure.
And going to a game between two bottom tier teams is an awful experience. Very uneventful game, no electricity in the building, I'd rather watch it in my living room on HD and if it ends up sucking(like it most likely will) I can go do something productive that will actually enhance my life.

Depends on the price of the tickets. Just because they are below face value doesn't mean they are a good deal.
I watch every lakers game I can on TV but I'm not going to pay 50$ to see them play a average team unless I am getting a great deal. (like 50% off regular price)
I can just watch the game at home for free.
Also going to games isn't always that great. Could be a blowout or some major players could be sitting out and you'll feel like you wasted your money.
Its actually easier to watch a game on tv also because its normally a closer view, you get replays, and less distractions.
Sounds like your mad you might be stuck eating those tickets
