View Full Version : Are LeBron's legs shot?

He looked dead legged as all get out last night v.s. Brooklyn. He barely elevated on that jumper, and 89 year old Paul Pierce packed his shot.
Even JVG, resident LeBron fan was commenting how so far this season he just can't seem to elevate the way we're used to seeing. His quickness off the dribble to me was looking near 2011 type lows.
I wonder if all the consistent mileage the past few years are quickly catching up with the type of game he's been playing on such a large body. His athleticism has looked very pedestrian given his standards.
Anyone else see this too? I hope it turns around for him soon. He looks kind of old at times out there.

Maybe he should take a year and a half off so that when he comes back terrible people can just chalk it up to rust

Well, if you must know, it's because of this thread and how ridiculous it is.

What's ridiculous about questioning LeBron's current state of athleticism?
Cmon now. Hes just won back 2 back titles
He aint got no worries. Specially this early in the season
Wait... Is this a thinly veiled Oden joke? Props to you if it is.
This is what you guys dream about. Every damn year. He's still 28, you have to wait..

Because it was one game where he looked tired and isn't this 3 games in 4 nights? I'll accept discussion of his lost athleticism when it's a repeated offense or his production slides for an extended period.

I noticed that that too, he looked the same way down the stretch of the Sixers game also. I think Bron said something about his conditioning not being there yet, he'll probably look like his normal self in a few weeks.
Also there's nothing ridiculous about this thread at all. Anyone who's watched Bron closely knows his quickness has been declining since 2010. Watch clips of Bron in Cleveland compared to now. Big difference in explosiveness.

The heat team as a whole including lebron look really bored out there can you blame them they have been to three straight finals. That spark and motivation just isn't there and probably wont be till post all star break. I can see them going 500 till around mid December sort of like their first year.

Actually it wasn't just one game. He's looked slow in all of his games (including the preseason). He even missed two alley-oops because he didn't jump high enough. I've never seen that before.
Yea he doesnt look entirely in shape this early, he probably didnt get in the workout he needed, wedding n all.

I am going to wait for few more weeks before questioning some decline in athleticism. LeBron himself said that he is not satisfied with his conditioning.

it happens when smart defenders take away certain angles from him. It has happened for years and it brings up the same conversation. He is fine and he always makes the necessary changes.

He's played more basketball than anyone in the NBA, (probably the world) in the past 3 years. He is tired...dead legs happen and then you rest and regain your bounce back.....but he is never going to be as bouncing and quick as he was at 21.....that's life.

I doubt it. He is still athletic. The season just started some people don't have their legs under them yet. Lets give him 15 or so games.

To respond seriously I would say his conditioning is slightly lacking by his standards. Not a big deal.

But he runs and bicycle to the arena every day. Plus he was bragging about how much better he was this season.

Skills ≠ conditioning
And he said multiple times that he has yet to reach the desired level of conditioning. He probably spent too much of September partying and travelling.

there are players that age faster. lebron had an nba body in highschool, and hes going to age faster at the end of his career than others. thats the positive and negative about his athleticism. it comes quick, it goes quick. His athleticism started to decline after 2011.
