Enjoy the show.

“Russell Westbrook has gone through a methodical rehab process jointly created by our medical and performance teams and treating physicians. The process has been instrumental in getting Russell to this point and has included various physical and medical benchmarks. The final benchmark being unrestricted basketball activity. After hitting the necessary marks, all parties, including the team, consulting physicians, Russell’s representatives, and most importantly Russell, jointly determined that returning to play was the correct next step.”

It made almost no damn sense that it'd take him almost a full 2 months to recover from a simple arthroscopic clean-up procedure. The two months comes from the time he had the surgery at the beginning of October plus the 4-6 weeks he'd need to return starting at the beginning of the regular season.

So, there were two possibilities. Presti was just being sneaky and purposely way too conservative with the 4-6 week timetable, or the procedure was a lot more than a simple clean-up surgery. Thankfully it's the former.

If he's medically cleared and ready to go, why would they want him to sit there and accumulate rust? Basically missed like 9 games in total. What a boss.

He'll be better than ever. Get ready for anti-Rose. Westbrook's mental strength is Peterson level. Wouldn't be surprised if he won MVP this year.

Teammates were convinced Russell Westbrook could've played OKC opener, describing him as explosive as ever. Source confirms he plays tonight.

And before he had the second surgery, he was practicing at full-speed and pain free. Kinda want to know why Presti basically said he wouldn't be back for nearly 2 months if all they were doing was repairing a loose stitch to alleviate the swelling. The 4-6 week timetable from the beginning of the regular season always smelled fishy.

For those of you making the HGH jokes....

You do realize Russ was already practicing pain free and at full-speed before the loose stitch setback, correct? He had that surgery on October 1st. It was a simple arthroscopic procedure to alleviate the swelling because of the loose stitch. The doctor confirmed then, way back on October 1st, that his meniscus had properly healed since the first surgery and there were no complications as far as that was concerned.

So...did you really think it'd take him damn near 2 full months to return from a simple arthroscopic procedure to reduce swelling? Am I the only one that thought this whole time that the "miss first 4-6 weeks of the regular season" seemed too conservative? I mean hell, we've seen players have meniscus surgeries and return in a few weeks....Russ had the surgery to actually repair the meniscus way back in April. So unless the second surgery was to do more than actually reduce swelling, it really doesn't seem like too much of a stretch that he's back already.

Sorry Durant, no career season for you. Simmons was expecting Westbrook to be out a month and Durant would be averaging 35+ a game for the first month.

That's just an excuse for the Rose dick riders to fall on if their hero sucked.

Also Westbrook played in last years playoffs, Rose didn't play all of last season.

Actually a very good thing for Durant. He cant win the MVP award without a really good record and Westbrook is needed for that

And he can still put huge numbers. This OKC team has no scoring at all after KD and Westbrook

People still shouldn't expect OKC to look great for a little while. There's still quite a few young players in their rotation that are getting their first meaningful playing time of their career, and it's going to take some time for them to develop and get comfortable in their roles. And I'd be surprised if Russ doesn't show some signs of rust and struggles a little bit in his first few games.

What this does do, though, is keep them from having to take on more responsibilities than they were ready to handle.

If Durant tried to average 35+ for an extended amount of time, he would wear out by season's end.
Russ being back is good for KD, believe dat. Russ will shoulder all the blame like a true boss
