Had a lead on the Griz in the 4th quarter today, then basically just let them roll over the top and lose :lol

Smart. The Sixers have gotten out to a good start and Celtics have now started off with 4 losses.

Andrew Wiggins to Boston!
Then he celebrates by blowing a huge line of white girl.
Then he dies of a heart attack.

List you need for tanking:

1. Injured/disgruntled best player
2. Young inexperienced coach
3. Unmotivated veterans
4. Young guys who are not ready
5. A chucker

Boston Celtics seem good on all. Feel free to add any.

You can add unproductive players to that list as well :lol

That's not tanking you jackass. THey just suck. Maybe if the coach pulled the players or someone faked an injury.

3 of the starters weren't playing in the last 8 minutes? :confusedshrug:

This whole tanking thing is ridiculous. You think NBA players, some of the most competitive grown men in the world, would give up a lead in the 4th quarter for the off-chance that they get the #1 pick in the draft.

Did the thought that they just aren't a good team that lacks talent ever cross your mind?

This whole tanking thing sounds ridiculous to me.

In the past team owners like Sterling have actually gotten into trouble for promoting tanking. They can't make it too obvious. Also, I think you're overestimating how competitive the majority of NBA players are.

I think youre underestimating how competitive they are. Cream of the crop in a field driven by competition. Early season tanking has got to be disastrous for any team's morale and people making these decisions arent behind xbox controllers. Its difficult to be in that organization at any level.

They might suck purposefully (so they tank) but players might actually impale you and eat your children if you tanked in the way people are suggesting by pulling starters. Good point, they were -15.

Players don't tank, GMs do. Ainge traded away the team's leadership and the two stars that weren't injured. The team was designed to fail. This is tanking.

Yeah, this. The team is made up of players who are similarly skilled so Stevens won't have a solid rotation down for a month at least, then they'll need time to gel. There's no rim protectors (though Fav has been surprisingly useful) and there's no killer first option.

Personally my hope for the team is they can showcase enough of Green, Bass and Lee to trade them away for a couple of first rounders. I'm guessing Wallace will be around til the final year of his contract, but it's no really and issue because we won't be contenders before then anyway and no big name free agent is coming to Boston.

There's no floor leader on the court right now for the Celtics. They're just a bunch of role player who crumble down the stretch.

Coaches and players don't tank. What does happen is FO's set up their teams for failure.

Did you read his post? He wasn't talking about off season moves, he implied the players gave up so that they could lose.

They weren't tanking.

Players have no part in tanking. You can put the least talented team on the floor imaginable and they will still try their best to compete and win the game.
