At worst, he is clearly the 2nd best player on the team. Why are coaches idiots?

You can be the 2nd best player on a team and not start. It's not unheard of.

And if Thomas starts, who is going to score off the bench?
Kings are playing it smart. Start the game running the offense through Cousins as much as possible, and let Thomas do his thing with the 2nd unit. It's not like he's getting bench minutes, the guy is playing 30 mpg.

We're all entitled to our opinion but nothing makes me more sick when posters think they know more than the actual coach of the team.

Kings just need to tank if you can't beat Atlanta at home coming off a rest your wasting your time, IT has heart rest of the Kings soft.
It's more insane that Salmons and Patterson DO start.

Even if the Kings weren't tanking, which they are (John Salmons [6.6 PER] and Patrick Patterson [2.7 PER] led the team in minutes tonight for Christ's sake!), having Isaiah come off the bench is ideal. If Isaiah was on the Pacers last year, the Heat would've been crushed.

A couple of days ago I was saying Thomas is better off the bench but that's assuming that DeMarcus Cousins is not playing like the C version of Josh Smith (minus the elite Defense), there is no point in having Vasquez out there if Cousins is going to chuck up the same garbage he has for the last 4 years taking long 2's and 3's. The whole point of Vasquez coming was to get Cousins better shots (not happening cause of Cousins) and clearly he still doesn't/ever will want to play to his strengths which kind of makes Vasquez trade useless for us. We should just let Thornton chuck in the 2nd unit and that's that.
Start Thomas and Mclemore they can defend a bit unlike Vasquez/Thornton who are dreadful and they can put pressure on teams at both ends Vasquez puts zero pressure either way on opposing PG's which light us up (Paul, Lawson, Teague, Curry were defended by ghosts)..
We would have been better of trading Evans for Robin Lopez (move Cousins to PF) and offering a huge deal to Jeff Teague (him and IT would be dynamite) instead we signed Landry.............................

I have no problem with IT coming off the bench. My only real concern with the team right now is the SG position. Thorton is garbage right now and isn't helping the team in anyway. I have never been on the Jimmer bandwagon but it's time for him to get a shot. Start Benny Mac and bring Jimmer off the bench. IT and Vasquez can also play together as the guards at times. Actually now that I think about it they should start JT and bring PP off the bench too. PP hasn't done anything and maybe he can do something in the second unit (like last year). Can't do anything to fix our SF issues just don't have anyone there.

Except Marcus Thornton is one of the better scorers on the team, he's just in a slump right now.

He's just low effort about 99% of the time. We don't need anymore of those. Without him scoring he is useless. He's been on a slump for a year and a half.

This, the dude has not wanted to be a King since they stopped letting him chuck after he got traded. Can't have players on a bad team that don't give there all unless your trying to win 15 games.

So are you new on the Jimmer bandwagon with me now? Marcus thinks he has it bad now? Try not getting off the bench ever.

I'm on the splash brothers 2.0 Bandwagon of Thomas and Mclemore starting together. Outside of those two guys could not care less about the rest of the team atm the way they been playing. Jason Thompson also has been good on D so I give him props.

This is my new starting lineup:
PG: Vasquez
SG: Benny Mac
SF: Doesn't matter
PF: JT
C: DMC
Backups of:
PG/SG: IT and Jimmer
SF: Still doesn't matter
PF: PP
C: JT or Chuck in small bits

To me Vasquez might not work with the starters, he needs players who cut and move well without the ball and other than Patterson that does not exist in the starting line up. Vasquez can't really break down a defence like Teague was doing to us. Imo just put all your firepower into the starting line up with Thomas, Ben and Cousins and give IT and #16 the green light and tell Cousins he's not to leave the paint under any circumstance and offensive rebound if he does take him out of the game, it's been 4 years of him playing like Josh Smith on offence now and that's 4 years to much.

I think Benny Mac can be that guy. Also need someone who can continue to get the ball to Cousins (Vasquez) and someone on the second unit that can score (IT). Doesn't mean it has to be all starters out all backups in (like they have been) a mix and match would be nice.

Imo we should try Thornton in the 2nd unit and let him chuck as many times as he want's with him being the#1 option with the reserves with Vasquez feeding him. Cousins atm is getting the exact same looks as last year he's drifting out and taking ill advised 2's, Vasquez won't fix that imo. We also got no floor spacing in the starting line up all 5 starters have shot a terrible % of open long 2's and 3's. ATL just packed the paint and it was game over till IT and Ben Mac spread the floor.

I don't think there is anything that is a quick fix on this team right now. I had to actually rewind one offensive sequence where Salmons and PP were standing right next to each other on the 3 pt line with hands on hips not moving. I just don't understand how professional basketball players can't immediately see that they need to be moving and spreading the floor.

Hayes, Outlaw, Salmons, Thronton are all pretty much untradeable as well and they take a massive part of the salary up. Yeah it's depressing, Malone is a good coach but the team is just soft and dumb atm.

You know, I questioned this same thing when I saw Isaiah Thomas kill the Clippers a couple weeks back in the Clippers' last preseason game. I just chalked it up as "it's preseason. Who cares?" But Isaiah is the real deal.
I can see why he is with the 2nd unit, though. Kings don't have much of a bench. Take Isaiah out and they become much worse.
