In an unrelated note the New York Knicks are currently putting together his next max contract.
Worth every penny.

Such an overrated player. The Herd is the GOAT. Called him out every time. Good luck New York.

I can't believe this guy got an mvp vote last year. Durant or CP3 deserved that vote.

Because criticizing Melo is a brave thing to do? ESPN didn't rank him top 10 last year, or this year, yet he's overrated. Go figure

Lol. Take a hike. Colin has called this for years. You don't listen to his show so you have no reason to call me out on my statement.

He's overrated when ppl call him the best scorer in the game. I remember a lot of ppl called him that. He isn't better than Durant or Lebron in that regard.

I do listen, and he's a blowhard that says things to get a rise out of people. He's no different than Skip or Steven A. He even has that fake inflection in his voice, like he's saying things people don't want to say.

It's because of his versatility, not efficiency. And he did win the scoring title last year. The only media person that says that is Charles.

You lost all credibility comparing him to Skip.

I've been calling it on this website for years. People always gave me shit.
Now I guess they're starting to come around.
normally i would take this as a chance to bag on melo tonight but i cannot lie. his fellow offensive weapons are terrible with felton, bargs, and especially mwp. amare was especially bad tonight as well. no chandler tonight or JR smith means that the entire opposing team can focus on melo only and that causes a lot of bad shots. ill give melo a rare pass.

melo deserves to be bashed... 10-28 is not gonna cut it. but then again, where is the help?
and their defense was shit for 3 quarters :facepalm

Ehh. A lot of "superstars" (which so many people call Anthony) have played on depleted/incompetent teams at times and still performed a lot better than he is.

Knicks are in SERIOUS trouble
-Amare 2 yrs / 21 M per
-Melo 2 yrs / 21 M per
-Tyson 2 yrs / 14 M per
-Bargs 2 yrs / 12 M Per
They also cost me $200 profit on parlays tonight, guessed 5 team spreads and money lines correctly for the Knicks to screw this one up after all that hot air they were blowing about Dolan going nuts over their losing and it was still early blah blah blah
-------
Firesale by the deadline when they realize they cant even hope to compete with the likes of Miami, Indiana, Chicago.
I want to see Melo on the Pistons (where he should have been drafted)
Melo + Shumpert for Stuckey + Monroe + Expirings
or
Monroe, KCP, Stuckey, Charlie V, Jerebko
for
Tyson Chandler, Melo, Shumpert
Knicks dump $35M of salary and get back a franchise big in Monroe and the #8 pick in last year's draft.
Pistons contend with:
- Jennings / Shumpert / Melo / Smith / Drummond
- Billups / Singler / Chandler off the bench
Why is Melo killing my playoff team? He is supposed to play well while his team loses, not play poorly while his team loses.

I don't know why you would want to see Anthony play with Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith.
When you have guys who are used to doing similar things playing for the same team, they have to be able to adapt and figure out how to adjust. Those guys just simply aren't smart enough to do that and they've proven it over and over.
They would not as a whole equal the sum of their "name value" IMO.

Melo was single covered and was putting up horrible shots. Some were unlucky went in and out etc but he looked rushed and just crap tbh.
Amare was absolute shit. Turnover machine and rusty as fu*k, they need to play him more to get him back in rhythm. Cant play him limited or every few games, if he gets injured again so be it. No one is trading for him so you may aswell use him until hes done...
Tyson going down obviously hurt them, MWP played as you expect from him, same with Felton. Cant blame the role players this time. Also, Hardaway JR stop shooting you are a worse version of JR...

It's only been 4 games people... Let him get his legs under him
MWP played just fine tonight against the Bobcats... 18 pts on 7-13 shooting, 6 reb and 3 stls...Bargs only took 5 shots. Felton took the 2nd most shots with 15..That shouldn't be happening...Shumpert was 4-8, he needs to shoot more...

Those are some Godbe stats
The problem with Anthony is the same as always. Those with the "superstar" label tend to do other positive things on the court when their shot isn't falling. Anthony last night had 5 rebounds (1 offensive) and 2 assists.
It's not just him. Teams take on the tendencies of their appointed star. None of the Knicks had more than 2 assists last night, and Martin was the only one with a positive +/-.
They're a mediocre team, and no closer to winning a title than they were when he got there.

Colin Cowherd a turrible radio host. I swear I love the other guys on ESPN, but I can't listen to this guy. He will bring up Lebron in non Lebron situations. Which of course appeals to you because you're in the I HEART LEBRON campaign.

Melo needs to get his $hit together. He's still ringless. and the other top 5 players in the 2003 NBA Draft has rings.

There are so many players better at scoring than Melo. He simply is not that good of a scorer. Inefficient volume scoring= bad

This is the difference between people who watch the game of basketball and those who copy and paste stats to troll. Duma is in every game thread and clearly watches these games....none of you bitches are to be found in any game threads and then act like you know what is going on. First take and youtube highlights are the only basketball you watch

Scoring title means nothing in Melo's case. He just jacked up more shots than Durant and Lebron. Durant and Lebron are a billion times better scorers than Melo. Many players are better scorers than him.
Versatility means nothing if you suck in most of those ways. You don't get bonus points for scoring one possession with a post up, another with a cutter, then the next with a 3 pointer.

If Melo doesn't go to LA (which is most likely), then he can come to Atlanta.
We need a franchise player and a small forward.
Horford and Millsap would complement Anthony well in the front court.
Teague provides the point guard who can run the team and who can get to the rim.
Korver is the outside to complement Anthony.

I'm FAR from an Anthony apologist, but this just isn't accurate.
He took a shot more per game than Durant last year, 2 per more than James.
When people refer to him as the "best scorer", versatility is exactly what they're referring to, and it is a valuable skill set when utilized properly.
His problems have revolved around passing, defending, and his perceived attitude of nonchalance.
Will his style of offensive play win a title? I don't believe so. But to deny his ability as a scorer is just foolish.

No. Because its not like half of Lebrons opponents can stop his drive, and when they do he cant score. He scores on everyone. The same way. And his style also opens up wide open shots for others. So it doesnt matter how one dimensional he is.
Durant knocks down threes and free throws against everyone. Nobody is able to take that away and force him to break out other moves so it doesnt matter. Three pointers and free throws are very efficient.
So what Carmelo can post up with medium efficiency and can take long twos with medium efficiency and shoots threes with average efficiency. It means nothing.
But I guess you consider Chris Kaman a better pure scorer than Shaq. Kaman has an up and under, and a mid range jumper. Kaman better scorer than Shaq was.

Not sure where you're getting your stats, Melo took 4.4 more shots than Lebron and 4.5 more than Durant last season.

Melo took over 4 more shots per game than Durant and scored just 0.5 more ppg.
