Rockets now at 4-1..

Lakers with Howard, Gasol, Bryant and Nash started at 0-5. Its funny when you have Howard, World Peace and Kobe on your lineup last season but is still considered one of the worse defensive teams in the NBA giving a lot of points..

D'Antoni is a joke, a clown and will make those defensive players soft ass

Look at last season when Lopez was age 24 you can see the trend upwards.

Last season #1 in points in the paint, #5 in PER.

This year..

PER 36

26.4 ppg
7.7 rpg
3.9 bpg
59% FG
30.9 PER

Opponents are shooting 29% against him at the rim on 9.5 attempts per game.

Wah, wah, He played didn't he?
Brook was coming off a foot injury if you want to play the excuse card.

Either way this is vs. the league. Lopez only plays Howard twice a year.
He's more dominant offensively than Dwight and so far better defensively in the paint this year.

ChuckOakley
11-06-2013, 11:24 AM
Either way Lopez, Gasol and Dwight the 3 best centers in the game.
And Lopez is only 25. Not bad for a former #10 pick with low expectations by most.

Dwight is the better overall player, (mainly because of his rebounding) but he should be.. he's a former #1 pick, older and paid $20m a year. Howard's 3.6 TO's per 36 doesn't help though. (1.9 per 36 for Lopez)

a. He's 25 he will.

B. In his 1st playoffs he outplayed Noah 5/7 games.
He finished #8 in PPG (#1 among all big men PF or C)
#4 in PER
#1 in Blocks

22.3/7.4/3
is what Noah allowed.

And yeah.. he was only playing against the 2nd best defensive team/Center in the East who had a ton more experience.

how does this turn into a Lopez vs DH debat?

Howard when healthy shit on Lopez 7 days a week. Lopez with his stiff soft ass got nothing on Howard. Even thu Howard is not 100% like Orlando days(he may never be) but he is much closer and trending up.

I mean who want a softie cannot anchor defense and grab rebounds to anchor your team down low. I d rather have Asik than him. With today's rules and having elite perimeter scoring option. Lopez is even less attractive.

And yet he's been a much better shot blocker and rim protector than Howard this year (29% vs. 58% opponent FG% at the rim) and the Nets were the 2nd best rebounding team last year with him playing 30mpg.

You're using a 4 game sample size? :oldlol:

Dwight is a 3x DPOY.
Dwight averaged almost twice as many rebounds as Lopez.

Lopez is a significantly better offensive player than Dwight.. Better in the post, not a liability at the FT line or prone to turning the ball over(dwight averages like double the TOs).

That stuff matters a lot for building a rythym on offense.. when you cant string anything together because your fumbling the ball and bricking FTs.. especially down the stretch of games when teams intentionally foul. Dwight lost his team a lot of games with that.

Also look at brooks block numbers.. they used to be shit but over the past year he averaged the same amount as Dwight roughly.. 2 in the regular season and 3 in the playoffs. Lopez has twice as many blocks than dwight so far this season. His paint defense has improved drastically. Youre completely underselling him.

Great game from him. If he can average closer to 15 FGA per game than 10 FGA per game, I think it's going to bode really well for him. Scoring wise and offense wise , I still don't put him in a tier any better than 05 Amare or 06 Brand really. But if he continues to hit his FT's it'll go a long way for both him and the Rockets.

The problem is that FGA doesn't capture when Dwight loses the ball or when he gets fouled and shoots free throws. There were games where I'd go 'Damn they're giving Dwight more looks than usual on the block' but he'd only go 4-6 because he shoots so many FTs.

Stupid thread, OP cherry picks stats and leaves out 6 turnovers, not to mention I bet 8 of those 10 made shots were open dunks.

Though I guess it's pretty rare to see a game where Dwight drops 20 points with his non-existent post game despite 10 years in the league to develop it. So congratulations :applause:
