I hope LeBron doesn't win again. The media doesn't hold his previous MVPs against unlike MJ(Malone won it over him), Shaq(Nash and AI won it over him),
etc.

Lebron is back in the MVP Race. He's now averaging 26 ppg on 58 FG%.

Even if he averaged 30 10 10 he shouldn't win it.

Way to early for that talk.

Durant is still young. Chris Paul has to win one before his prime ends.

Good rankings. Once we start having a larger sample it'll probably be between LeBron, Durant, Dwight, CP3 and Paul George based on likely records (with Harden, Love and maybe Curry somewhere in the top 10... Rose too if his production is decent enough) but CP3 is looking fantastic so far.

Hes not that good that it would be a shame if he didn't get one before his career ended.
You have players like Ewing, Wade, Baylor who were all better players than Paul and never won one.

It's impossible to rank right now but i'll be updating all season so might as well start now. I'm sure a lot of you will disagree with my current rankings. Suspect it won't start shaping up until a month or so in. Feel free to post your own rankings.
Durant may end up winning it but him, same as rose have not been good this far and Durant has no business being in top 10.

Anthony Davis not even top 10 at this point? He obviously has no shot at winning it because we may not even make the playoffs but the kid is amazing.

Tough to put him in. Everybody in my current top 10 all have absurd stats as well as a better record. But i definitely would not call someone with Davis as a top 10 candidate an idiot. Dude is gonna be special.

I get that. I think he deserves to be in the top 10 over Bledsoe though. It's not like Phoenix is going to be competing either.

So now that the Pelicans are 2-3 and Phoenix is 3-2 and Bledsoe had an average game is it time to bump him down? Not much difference in 3-2 and 2-3.

LOL exactly my point about how hard it is to rank at this point. It is actually a huge difference in terms of win%. 3-1 is a 60 win pace (:lol ). Next week when I update I imagine Davis will be above Bledsoe.

I know it has only been 4 games in now, but I think Rose has dug himself in a deep hole shooting 28% FG and averaging something crazy low for him like 14 ppg and 3-4 apg. He can obviously turn it around, but I don't see him competing with the aforementioned likely top 5.

Lebron should not be at #1. He's the best player in the world, but right now he is not the most valuable. He's not putting in enough effort, and his +/- is not good.
I'd put Lebron in 5th right now, though I do expect him to climb later in the year.

Make a case why someone like Durant should be above him? LeBron's putting up historic offensive numbers, his team has the same record and the eye-test tells me James is a flat out better player than Durant. Even based solely on play this year. I just don't see the justification. Then Paul George who's team has 2 less losses but the numbers/level of play aren't comparable at all. Same with Aldridge 1 less loss non-comparable level of play. i just don't see a legitimate case for any of them other than being sick of giving it to LeBron.

Yeah, even though Durant is better, PG should be above him because of how he has his team rolling. I have this as my top 5:
1. LeBron
2. George
3. Durant
4. Aldridge

What of Harden's play screams MVP caliber though?
24, 5 and 6. 44% from FG, 29% from 3, on 7...SEVEN...attempts per game. 4 turnovers per game. And the worst defense by any team's superstar, with only Melo being comparable.
Harden shouldn't even be in the discussion right now. And how is he higher than Love?
Love is putting up 24, 14, and 4 on the same FG% from the field and 35% from 3. Huh?
