Gasol doesn't care about the Lakers anymore and his play reflects that.
It's the same reason Shaq stopped caring, Gasol stopped caring, even Bynum stopped caring and Dwight never started caring. The organization and the fans puts Kobe above all these guys even though they all have a greater impact on the game.
It's demoralizing. No matter what they do, Kobe gets credit and these guys eventually just get traded or attempted to be traded.
If you were on a team putting in work and there was another guy who got to play as selfishly and counterproductively as he wanted and always got the credit for your effort, you'd get sick of it too. Phil hated Kobe, Mike Brown hated Kobe, D'Antoni hates Kobe. All the bigmen hate Kobe.
Dude is lucky dude was there when talented people wanted to come and be part of the LAKERS. But now it's just the LA Kobe's and nobody wants to be there. Real talk.

Why Shine? The Lakers organization tried to get rid of him after he brought them 2 championships and the fans scapegoat him for everything that bad happens, even when its usually Kobe's fault.
Dude honestly has no reason to GAF about the Lakers whatsoever. I don't blame him for mailing it in.

I'm not sprinting to defend anyone. This has nothing to do with Kobe, yet you can't keep the man's name out of your mouth. 90% of your posts have something to do with him. That's probably more than the stans post, and yet, you'll claim you're not a fan. So what is it then? Why the obsession? Seriously, have a seat on my couch. Dude you were in this thread which is about Pau Gasol posting about Kobe when NOBODY had brought him up.
You're in EVERY thread bashing Kobe, desperately trying to get attention and throwing out classic "bait" lines hoping a Fan of Kobe such as myself, will respond.
You go around every thread spouting Kobes name, BEGGING for attention, example you posted a second essay about Kobe in this thread after nobody responded to your first troll attempt.
You basically beg Kobe fans to respond to you and when they finally do you act like it isn't the response you wanted "like omgz guys why are you defending Kobe what did i do :confusedshrug: "

lol and if you factor in that kobe always needed fisher to bail out his historicall unclutch playoff hero bricks, Kobe should probably only count half of his rings. And then when you factor in Shaq's dominance and Gasol's more important contributions, Kobe was really responsible for probably less than one "ring" worth of championship play. I hope you are wrong. I'm a big Pau Gasol supporter myself. I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed so far. I was expecting him to come out aggressive this year now that Blight Howard is gone. Gasol is playing center now where he belongs, he doesn't have to share the ball with Kobe or D12, lets go Spaniard.

What do you think he is? If he played against David Lee, who isn't considered elite, it wouldn't surprise me if Lee doubled his points, rebounds and assist and made it look easy. I would expect Kevin Love and Dwight Howard to actually do it. He's not elite.

Uh huh.
Now for the reality of the situation:
Gasol has constantly made it known that he wants to be with the Lakers. This myth some of you seem to keep trying on for size that he "doesn't care" because Kobe gets all the credit simply isn't true.
The truth is, he's a big, with ailing knees and miles on his body. Gasol is what? 32-33? He's slowing down. So I'm unsure what people expected of him at this point. He isn't the player that can carry a team anymore.
He'd be a good third option for a team at the right price. Nothing more.
Not to mention the system of play doesn't fit his style of ball.

Pau is the type of dude who plays well when he's on a team with good chemistry and potential to win. LA had good chemistry when they were winning rings. The team he was on in Memphis did, too.
I think that he is not the type of player to demand the ball or force things. He's also not an elite rebounder or defender, so basically if he's not getting the right touches and people aren't moving the way they should on offense, he's not going to get many points or assists. It's hard for bigs to manufacture those things because they have to get the ball in certain spots with the floor set up a certain way.
I dunno if Pau is elite, it depends on how you define it. Is he a superstar? Was he ever? Probably not, but he's definitely an all-star talent and I think he still is.

He isn't elite though. Elite = Superstar, which there are only a few of in the league. It is a category above all star. LeBron, Durant, and CP3 are the only truly elite players right now IMO, and an argument could be made for maybe 2-3 more players max.

He's washed up. NBATV basically had a marathon of classic games of dynasties all summer and I binged on a bunch of Laker games from 08-10. Current Gasol moves nothing like that Gasol, who was quick and mobile as hell. And I'm assuming those grueling B2B2B Finals runs must have been hell for his body, because 33 is not that old, but GOD does he look old out there. 11-12 was his last All Star level season.

Pau Gasol just cant play in a MDA uptempo offense. The second half of yesterdays game, all gasol was doing was running back and forth on defense and offense, setting high picks but rarely touching the ball. and when he did touch the ball, it was at the top of the key for a 20 footer.
if pau is to be effective, they need to implement him into a half court offense where he can get the ball on the block. if they dont want to do that, then whats the point of having him on the team. just trade him if all they want him to do is set high screens and rebound. he looks miserable out there on offense.
