I believe Vegas is listing odds on which player will "break" first... Bynum, or Oden.

Bynum should just retire already.
It's obvious he doesn't gave a genuine love for the game of basketball.
Just took the easiest route to wealth for a black man in this country and used his superior genetic gifts to his advantage.

Yes the easiest route to wealth for black men is to work for an exclusive company which employs 450 players. And only guarantees 30 new employees per year.

Damn why isn't every black man taking a part of this GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

Bynum, because the Cavs are actually banking on him playing.

No they're not.

And, there is no reason to believe Bynum's season is now over. He may be totally fine.

Besides being an entertainer with a career as a musician, actor, comedian, ect., and playing uncle tom by embodying caricatures of black males that are not positive, the only other road to wealth is through business and finance. (and we all know those careers do not allow black men to participate as anything other than a token representation of "diversity")

Black men are born with physical gifts that will allow to be professional athletes at a much greater rate than white men or other minorities.
So that's why being a professional athlete is the best career pathway to obtain wealthy status as a black man in this country.

Don't be hating because I have a greater knowledge of sociology then you bro.

I sure hope you're trolling because this is one of the most retarded moronic things I've ever seen posted here and that's saying a lot.

Erm, it wasn't "hope," it was fact. He returned later in the game. I understand you're still salty about Bynum never playing in Philly, but he remains on the active roster in Cleveland... like it or not.

And his minutes are rising, not falling.

So the cavs are not expecting him to play? Lol, yeah I'm sure that's why they signed him. You don't sign a guy 12 mil when you are not banking on the guy playing.

there are a lot of outs in the contract in case he couldn't play, and the cavs still have Andy V. and Zeller on the roster. So many people act like the cavs picked up Bynum with this idea that they are going to rely heavily on him. Why in the world would they or any team do that? Nobody banked on sh*t.

Maybe not heavily but do they or do they not expect him to play and make an impact? You don't sign a guy like him unless you expect that.

I don't think they expected much of anything when they signed him.
And by "guy like him" are you referring to a regular NBA player? if so that I agree. If we are talking about a guy one season removed from arguably being a top NBA center than you do make a play for him even if you aren't sure of what you may or may not get.

Just dont think you give a guy 12 mil if you dont have any expectations for him. You give him money bc you think he can make an impact, plain and simple.

I think they hoped he would play, but that's a bit different from "counting on him." And, he is only guaranteed $6 million of that contract. They have several outs over the next two years. There's a reason those were put in place. It was a high stakes gamble for a guy who can afford it. If he didn't play a single game, Gilbert's wallet is the only thing that takes a hit. Everyone understands the situation.

So far, so good.

He is going to play tomorrow, so that should tell you all you need to know about "grimace gate."

Andrew Bynum will play against the Sixers on Friday (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24195923/andrew-bynum-will-play-in-philadelphia-against-the-76ers-friday)

The Cavs are being extra-cautious with him, not even allowing him to play in back-to-backs. So, if they're going ahead with him tomorrow, it tells you this was nothing but a momentary hiccup.

He's actually way further along than I thought he'd be at this stage of the season. The fact that he's played in four of the five games so far and had an 18 minute night this early in the season is a big surprise. Cavs fans should be ecstatic, imo.

Oh wow. Didn't even notice the time it was posted. Here's one from philly.com posted early this morning saying he'll play Friday and sit out Saturday.

http://mobile.philly.com/sports/sixers/?wss=/philly/sports/sixers&id=230914761

There is no indication he isn't going to play and the fact that he came back last night after said grimace tells me the plans haven't been modified. Then again, I guess he could have pain or swelling today. Haven't heard anything about that being the case though.

LOL @ ESPN

They pulled that fragment from a larger story done by the Plain Dealer earlier today. In it, Bynum said he contemplated retirement over the last year because of injuries and it still crosses his mind from time to time. He does say he's currently a shell of his former self. A few days ago, he said he's unsure if his previous explosiveness will ever come back.

Note: He's not saying that he's going to retire. He was expressing the frustration of the injuries.

None of this should be a surprise. I'm sure ESPN took the two or three most salacious sentence fragments and ran with them, as usual.

I like Bynum's honesty. He's not sugarcoating his situation.

Here's the (much better) article.

I don't think he has a "fragile psyche." I think he's a relatively young guy who has had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity in his still young career and he's just being honest about it.

Still, the truth of what he said and, in context, is a pretty far cry from the headline ESPN went with, which was essentially "Bynum may retire."

They are pathetic.

Well, he has very little cartilage in his knees at this point. Unless they find a way to regrow or there is a medical breakthrough with a replacement cartilage surgery, he'll probably suffer with it the rest of his life.

I feel for the guy.

He's had at least 2 of those German knee injections ala Kobe in the past 5 years. Maybe it's time to head back for another.
