Sorry for adding to the hype but I read this article http://sports.yahoo.com/news/george-making-name-self-draft-173700616--nba.html prior to the 2010 draft declaring him the best player in the class after 5 years and was wondering how you would rank him now after 3 years against the likes of John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Evan Turner etc? Aside from George I have watched very few games of the aforementioned players to form a honest opinion.

I would say so yes. Wall is second, he's had some injuries which slowed him down. Cousins is third, attitude has held him back. Turner is last.

I know you came here to troll but Ill respond to you anyways. I was merely trying to highlight how prophetic the article was declaring him the best player potentially before the draft even happened. Add in the fact that Wall, Cousins and George are all equally talented that you cannot separate the three and you can easily say that George was merely thrust into the perfect situation as the reason for his success

Other than Wall, Cousins, Monroe, and George, it was a draft of a bunch of role players and bench warmers.

I always put my money on the 6'7" to 6'9" player that can handle the ball above averagely. It seems that's the one constant for good players in the NBA

I have seen far worse draft years actually and it is also common that only a handful of potential allstars are produced yearly thru the draft

well its not the same getting drafted by a shitty organization with a shit coach with shit teammates like mcgee, blatche, nick young... and getting drafted by a team led by a GOAT basketball mind larry bird...

exactly what I was thinking about when I said that George was thrust in the perfect situation to succeed, something that Wall and Cousins did not get the benefit of

John Wall's averaging 20 and 9. Him and Chris Paul are the only two pgs averaging at least 20 and 8 in the league. He would've had 40 against the Sixers a few nights ago if he didnt have back spasms. He had 23 at the half and only finished with 26 I think because he was having that back issue. He looks like he might be about to join the elite pg club. I'd still probably take George over him though.

If the draft were held again right now based on what each player has done it would probably be something like this

#1 Paul George
#2 John Wall
#3 Cousins/Monroe
#4 Bledose
#5 Turner
#6 Favors

But in saying that all those guys other than PG were put In either a terrible team/situation or both.

I'm not saying he's better, but I'm finding Hayward mysteriously absent in this thread.

People on here put too much credit to team success rather than the individual talent these players have.

As someone have implied, John Wall on the Pacers would have been the perfect fit because of his superior playmaking which was the pacers main weakness and we would be talking about how Wall is on the verge of being an elite player given the team success he would be enjoying.

Why say "already"? Everyone in his draft class started at the same time.

I was mainly talking about the article wherein the author said he would be the best player in 5 years prior to the draft therefore I asked if he was "already" the best player after three
