Watching him post up Gasol was laughable. He thinks he's Hakeem but the reality is that he can only score off of the pick and roll. His back to the basket game is a joke.

I didn't click on the link, but if that's the thread AllNet created, he made that thread in response to the sarcastic nature of threads made when Dwight had a poor game.

So in reality, this thread isn't mocking that thread. It's actually just proving AllNet correct, in that every time Dwight doesn't post 20 and 15, an immature thread will be composed by still emotionally unstable Lakers fans.

If he's not that good, and you guys are so happy he left, then why continue to bring him up so profusely? Do you realize how hard it will be to conceal your idiotic looks if Harden and Dwight go on to win a title in the next few years, while the Lakers are possibly still a 7-10 seed team?

Get over it. He wasn't happy, he moved on. You all should too. And this is coming from someone that doesn't like Howard at all, and thinks he's one of the most flawed "superstars" of this era considering his inability to develop or implement a post game after what, 9 years in the league? Still, I have the sense to know that the value he does bring to a franchise when it comes to numbers, money, and value, warrants (from an owner's standpoint) a max contract. And, so did the incompetent front office of the Lakers, who desperately wanted him to stay.

So, stop fronting, pick a tissue up, and just get over it. :sleeping

We deserved to lose that game. I'm not sure what I'm more upset about though. That Steve Blake hit the wide open 3 or that the game was that close to begin with. I never put too much weight on regular season games, but I would think the Rockets would have this one circled on the calendar. I mean, i could see if we were an established team that been together for years, but we're not. We're new. How/Why the hell would we be playing so lazy this early into a season is beyond me. I can handle being out of rhythm on offense or you know just shots not falling. I can handle Dwight missing freethrows. I can handle a few lapses on defense from players over the course of the game. It's like other than Howard, Asik and Beverly the players don't even attempt to play defense. It's too early to start slacking. I'm not even mad that we lost. Dwight Howard and his missed freethrows are not the reason we lost that game. If we would've taken care of business from the start then none of his freethrows would've mattered. We gotta come on with it on defense. At least try to.

Jailblazers7
11-08-2013, 10:16 AM
Houston's best two players have weaknesses that are easily exploitable in the playoffs.

Harden can't play D or score from the mid-range in crunch time. I meant Steve Blake was blowing by him in a close 4th quarter game and he struggles to score when the game get tight with under 1 minute in a close game.

Dwight just can't be on the floor in a close game. They straight up lost because he can't make FTs.

If he's not in the game we never get back in it. Gotta spread it all around. If Harden had made his shot then we would've won. If Lin or Bev actually rotated to Blake and contested we would've won. The freethrows hurt. They hurt bad, but they didn't lose us the game. No one player lost us the game.

Lin was HELD by Nash and Bev was screened off as well.

Dwight was supposed to switch off to Blake and Parsons was supposed to swing over to Gasol, but he didn't even do that...but it was too late anyways.

I'm not placing the blame on anybody really. I'm more upset that a statement game like this actually came down to a 3 pointer by Blake. I'm glad we lost. We deserved to. Morey did so much to assemble this team and we're still slacking on perimeter defense. That's what lost us the game. We should've never been down by damn near 20 points ever.

What ever makes you feel better. Houston is a contender this season while LA is a very mediocre team.

Lakers fans are salty and very childish but in this case they have reason to be.

Dwight is a douchebag. He is toxic. "Our FT's were terrible.." :lol

Pretty sure he said "my" not "our". He even said "I gotta work on them" after. People just trying to make something out of nothing.

He blamed it on the team as a whole. That's what you're supposed to do. Don't take all the blame. Don't take all the glory.

True franchise players take the blame for their losses. They hold themselves at a higher expectation than their teammates. They hold themselves accountable for mistakes and own up when they do make them. And when they win, they deflect attention and praise team effort. That is what real franchise players do. I am not saying his teammates were not part of the reason they lost. But as the face of a team, you have to take the blame and take on the challenge. Something Dwight does not do.

Dwight has always played the deflect the blame game. He never truly owns up to his mistakes. He makes a ton of excuses. He made huge critical errors down the stretch. Just man up. When he does take blame, he always has to follow up with some BS excuse.

That's exactly why he won't be a franchise player again, ever.

"My free throws were terrible," Howard said. "I just got to keep working. It was terrible tonight. I just got to go back in the gym and work on them some more and continue to work on it. It will fall."

Well, he did own up to it (not sure at what point in the interview), but it seems he's still deluded about his free throw shooting ability.

I'm not sticking up for Dwight here, I hate Dwight - but the overwhelming majority of ICONS of the sport (let alone mere 'franchise' players) both past and present have pointed out in interviews that certain seasons or occasions they simply did not have the 'right personal' / teammates or w/e 'deflection'/'excuse' as you guys are calling it. So to say that 'true franchise players don't do that' is quite literally not factual at all. Unless your name is Bill Russell pretty much all the Icons of the sport past and present including people with high intensity and a tendency to look inward and blame themselves whether deserving of it or not (like Jerry West) acknowledge when they had seasons and teams that were simply short on talented personnel or w/e. These aren't just excuses reserved for guys that 'aren't true franchise players'. Again not defending Dwight here, but the things he says aren't things that Icons of the sport haven't said before. The difference is I think he abuses excuses and deflection.
