Which is better... NBA 2k11, 12 or 13?

My 2k11 copy fizzled out and I was wondering if I should upgrade to 12 or 13... Or perhaps just get another copy of 2011.

Eh.. 2K11 and 2K12 have those cool "match NBA Legend's stats" game modes, which might make you want to play them if you're into single player things.

Franchise mode is about all I care about.

That's another reason why I like the older games... The star players are younger.

This depends on if you like controlling the ball handling with the right stick or not. They made that switch in NBA 2k13.

They each have good and bad points.

2K11 has Jordan mode, the Draft Combine (if you play My Player), you don't need to be online to play without being penalised. It's easy to get good fast though and dribble/post moves are limited.

2K12 has more polished graphics, player proficiencies, more old teams and has a challenge for about 12 Hall of Fame players. There is a lot of dribbling off players' legs though and some problems from 11 remained

2K13 has even more polished graphics, player progression in MP is more realistic and a lot of small additions in My Player. However, IMO it feels like a re-skinned 12 and has a lot of problems that remain from 12 and 11. You also have to be online to earn VC or you play MP offline and can never earn VC with that file again.

I played 14 for about half an hour (so take this with a grain of salt) and I didn't really like it. I thought the controls in 13 were almost perfect (I didn't like euro-step and step-through being the same button) and they changed it for no reason

2k10 was the best 2k out there.

Stopped playing after 2k13 which was the most horrible sports game after Fifa 14.

2K10 was absolute shit. Player movement was so bad that it ruined the game. Everything was tied together by animations that you couldn't exit once it started.

2k14 is just an upgrade of 2k13 but it still have it's flaws.


Sig skills are gimmicky to me.

Just single player franchise mode. I also have 2k8... But the rosters are a little too out of date for me.

Get 2k13 if you like being up to date. If you don't mind being set back a bit get 2k11
