Forget 5 years ago. Just two years ago he was an All-star, 2nd in assists and almost led the Suns to the playoffs. Crazy.

RT @LakersReporter: Steve Nash has back pain and will not return tonight. He'll see a doctor tomorrow to explore further.

NASH. When the nerve exiting the spine is pinched it is hypersensitive to further damage. If fibula fracture injures same nerve=double crush

@KevinDing
Steve Nash very concerned about nerve problem in his back. Reluctant even to say much because it's an "emotional" time.
Nash said major part of frustration is he wants to play but doesn't know when or where "a cleanish bill of health" might be.
@LakersReporter
Nash very upset about health issues. Feels like he hasn’t been able to help his team, the worst feeling for an all-time “Team first” guy.

Lakers made a huge mistake of trading for Nash.
They forgot to ask for the PHX training/medical staff to be included in the deal.

I said that shit when the deal went down, he was basically put together with duct tape and chicken wire his final season in Phoenix. How many times have we seen guys just fall apart when they leave Phoenix. The worst part for the Lakers is that they owe the Suns another first rounder in 2015 which I believe is only Top 5 protected. :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

It hasn't been that slow. It was taking place the last two years in PHX when people were getting suckered by his stats. Everything that team did was designed for him to succeed, which equalled butts in the seats.
If you actually watched him instead of his stats, you could see that his legs were gone and, along with them, his shot. His defense had reached a level of amazing incompetence. They limited his minutes and hid him on defense, and it was still glaringly obvious that he couldn't guard anybody.
People only caught on because he went to a team that was actually trying to win. You're not going to do that with Steve Nash on the floor anymore.

He shot 53.2% from the field in his last year in Phoenix and half way through the season was at like 56%. Even last year with the Lakers he shot just under 50% from the field. The only difference with the Lakers team last year is he didn't get to control the game like he did with the Suns. This year with the Lakers is a whole different story though.

So capable of winning Finals MVP?
He shot 53.2% from the field in his last year in Phoenix and half way through the season was at like 56%. Even last year with the Lakers he shot just under 50% from the field. The only difference with the Lakers team last year is he didn't get to control the game like he did with the Suns. This year with the Lakers is a whole different story though.
His FG% had been hovering around 50% for the three previous years and in 2010-11 he shot a career low 49%. They subsequently cut his minutes by about 20% and his shots by about 35% and the number did spike up.
His 3 pt% for those last two years in PHX were the lowest of his career despite taking 100 fewer shots per year than his career average. That's where you could see his legs going.
In PHX he was the system and got shots that he wanted, regardless if they were helping the team much. In truth, there's not much that could have helped those teams, so don't take this as a slam of Nash. But if you watched him night in and night out, it was obvious that he was nowhere near the player he had been or that his stats might indicate.
Kobe 4 The Win

I'm a huge Steve Nash fan. I have been ever since his rookie year. Unfortunately it's time to say happy trails. Even if he was healthy we can't afford to have a pg that can't even get in someone's way on defense.

Nash is done. Plain and simple. Should retire after this season or mid way through. His body is falling apart - painful to watch.
