****ing shameful. :facepalm

I'm tired of seeing bullshit like this. That shit shouldn't be any sport, yet it's going to keep happening.

Yup...and that was just as bad, if not worse. Forgot who it was against, but he had the ball around the top of the key and defender stuck his arm up near Harden's face (a good 5 inches away, though) and Harden faked like he got smacked.

Replays showed that there was absolutely no contact whatsoever.

Harden is a ****ing disgrace to basketball.

Why are you fools so worried about that? Y'all just sit there and think about what he's gonna do and where he's gonna go in 2016? :confusedshrug:

Would have literally smashed something in my house.

:oldlol:

Players need to get suspended after they do it the first time, send a message. Literally hurts the sport.

It's turning into f'n soccer. The only reason I don't watch soccer is cause every little bump results in a dive. If basketball turns into this, I'll just stick to playing.

This.

Please, please, PLEASE fine players based on a percentage of income. Dear lord. I can pay a five thousand dollar fine and not have my financial world crumble. Much less a multi-million dollar floplete.

I think it should be suspension after the first two or three in a season or something.

its not the amount that will hurt the floppers. we all know the can afford it. its the reputation of being a flopper that will eventually hurt the floppers the most. When the NBA officially recognizes you as a repetitive flopper, the refs begin to take notice and then the next time they flops, the refs wont fall for it.

Perhaps they'll start tracking flopping stats?
Then they may even expand it to cover flops per 100 possessions?

They gotta rise the fine amount and suspend plays for like a game or 2.

Shit fvcking ridiculous

Oh god, I wonder how he will put food on the table this week. A fine is supposed to be something you don't want. Imagine getting fined $5 bucks for speeding. Sorry officer, I only have a $10, keep the change.

11-11-2013, 07:07 PM
The only way you get these players to stop flopping is to threaten suspension because that's REAL money coming out of their pockets. 3 strikes and you're on the bench for a game without pay. That'll make any player think twice before taking a dive.

NumberSix

My point was to eventually have irritatingly high fine totals.

Just spewing out numbers, but start at 25%, then 50%, then 100%, then 200%, then maintain at 200% fine and also suspend a game.

My "logic" is that over-punishing will very quickly end the practice. The reward can not be higher than the risk, or else it will also be worthwhile to attempt.

What's hilarious is I just watched the clip, and it wasn't even the flop I thought he was going to fined for. I agree with including a game suspension after 3-5 flops. You have to include team penalties in order to stop these guys from blatantly flopping.

I'd like to see a special segment on every episode of sportscenter just playing the flops over and over with a commentary. Humiliate them. That would be worse than fining them.

This is a good idea, sadly most of the media are ******* and dont want to upset the players, owners, commisioner or whatever...

I wish that were the case. Harden straight up runs into people during his drives and feasts on the foul line. The calls he gets consistently, even though he's a known flopper, will probably stay about the same.
