Best player on the court today. Best center in the NBA. Top 5 player in the league.

Its actually amazing how whiny Laker fans are. This has easily passed the level of bitchmadeness by Cleveland fans when Lebron left.

Best player on the court today. Top 5 player in the league.

He wasn't the best player on the court in that game. It was actually Jeremy Lin. Howard's numbers were really empty after the 2nd half outside of rebounding. The Raptors did a good job containing him.

If were factoring in current play, what make him Top 5 ?

James, Durant, Love, Paul, and George have been better so far, unless your just factoring in what he will potentially be.

Yeah, Jeremy Lin was the one grabbing rebounds and protecting the damn paint all game long. Howard was more influential on the game. It was when they stopped going to him on offense that everything crumbled.

Yeah, hes top 5. Kevin Love hasn't been better, neither has George. Howard is a big man that can give you good to great on both sides of the court. Hes been more impactful than both.

Stop watching the boxscore moron, Howard was far from being the best player on the court. His play clearly isn't top 5 in the NBA either (Yet, has a chance to be top 5 again if he proves it this season). Best center is debateable as well. So in ALL accounts, youre pretty much wrong.

What game were you watching?:lol Or just checking the box score?

Howard is piss poor on offense, unless its a putback or a wide open dunk hes a liability. Cant shoot free throws to save his life and costs his team the game on numerous occasions.

Hes a great rebounder and shot blocker, but hes not a top 5 player. Have you even watched a Pacers game this season? Youre saying George isnt currently top 5?:facepalm

Dwight hasn't been great at the offensive end for this year or last year. He used to make up for his lack of individual low post dominance, poor FT shooting, and turnovers with sheer efficiency, but even that's dropped down to average levels.

Those signs were literally the only thing they did to convince him to stay, lol. That's it. Nothing else. The Lakers have that entire city at their disposal, and they just posted a few billboards. They laughed at the notion of getting rid of Kobe, and even kept D'antoni on board. That doesn't look desperate, that looks like they didn't really care either way. :confusedshrug:

2008-2009 Finals Team:

Dwight Howard
Rashard Lewis
Hedo Turkoglu
Rafer Alston
Courtney Lee
Marcin Gortat
Anthony Johnson
Tyronn Lue
Mickael Pietrus
Jameer Nelson
JJ Redick
Jeremy Richardson
Adonal Foyle
Tony Battie

Regular Season record: 59-23 (.720)

Dwight's Final year (2011-2012) Magic roster
Dwight Howard
Hedo Turkoglu
JJ Redick
Jameer Nelson
Glen Davis
Chris Duhon
Jason Richardon
Quentin Richardson
Von Wafer
Ryan Anderson
Earl Clark
Justin Harper
DeAndre Liggins
Daniel Orton
Ish Smith

Members of the 2009 Finals team in italics

Regular Season record: 37-29 (.561)

Shortened season, but .561 eaquals to 46 won games in a full season. They were 52-30 in 2010-2011 (.634).

.720
.634 (-.086 dropoff)
.561 (-.073 dropoff)

Quite a different group of guys, but still quite a drop in percentage, right? Still Dwight was on this team and didn't take them to the Finals. Hmm..

Now lets look at the team Orlando had on the floor, the "same" team Dwight took to the Finals yet was the worst team in the league without "just him".

Arron Afflalo (Not his best season)
Glen Davis (injured a lot)
JJ Redick (traded at deadline)
Ish Smith (traded with JJ)
Gustavo Ayon (traded with JJ)
Maurice Harkless (rookie)
Al Harrington (played very few games)
Tobias Harris (acquired at deadline)
DeQuan Jones (rookie)
E'Twaun Moore (2nd year)
Jameer Nelson (56 games)
Doron Lamb (Rookie)
Hedo Turkoglu (11 games, old, broken hand, drunk, juiced)
Andrew Nicholson (rookie)
Kyle O'Quinn (rookie)
Nikola Vucevic (rookie)
Beno Udrih (Solid, but mainly meh)

So that means, that 2009 Finals team that was the worst team in the league with Dwight off of it, was only just Jameer for 56 games, Hedo's drunk ass for 11 games, JJ Redick for 50 games and... wait... that's it... the rest of the 2011-2012 squad were off the team, too, apart from Big Baby.

The Finals team Dwight "carried" had already been greatly dismantled the following offseason, Dwight's dramashow really started to chew off the wheels from underneath the team bus, yet he was very willing to throw his teammates under it without hesitation. It was all their fault, right? Yet somehow the team started to crumble with him on it. Yes, bad moves. Bad signings. But Dwight had a lot to do with it with his BS.

Could it possibly be, that his teammates of 2009 kind of "helped" him? That just can't be. It was all Dwight. Not Rashard shooting out of his mind or Hedo actually being capable of playing the sport of basketball without falling on his face. Or Pietrus making it rain and Lee looking very promising for a rookie. No chance it was Rafer Alston doing business in the playoffs before being replaced in the starting lineup by Jameer Nelson who just came off the injured list after suffering a torn labrum in his shoulder and it sure ass heck wasn't because Dwight had a solid backup C in Gortat...

Nah. It was all Dwight.

The "worst team in the league last season without Dwight" had little to no resemblance to the 2009 Finals team and their record was not just because of Dwight. A totally different team, mainly made-up of rookies and second year players collected by rookie GM who was laughed at and ridiculed for the Dwight trade at the time. Vets were either mostly injured, traded or drunk.

Orlando is in a good position now. Nowhere to go but up and they seem to have hit the rebuild with a clear direction.

LOL damn you listen to the media hype too much. Dwight doesn't "completely alter" how other teams play against him. No one is afraid of this guy anymore. He is not that dominant. He used to be better because he had an insane work rate on the defensive end combined with his athleticism. Since 2009 and all that praise he has begun coasting more and more, his work rate kept going down until what we have is the current Dwight infront of us.

Dwight can't set screens properly, and he still doesn't know the basics of rolling off of them properly. His positional sense on offense is also bad and because of his bad footwork he often struggles to seal off his man leading to high turnover rate, and low percentage shots when he does actually manage to get them off without being fouled. He still often brings the ball low down for no reason, when he should just keep it high above his head. He is not an amazing off the ball player by any stretch of the imagination, and he has bad fundamentals.

I hope you're joking... I really do.

I understand what you're implying about his defence, but when you miss critical free throws and just suck that much on offence, your defence isn't making up that gap.
If he was at least ok on offence, there'd be no problem, but look at the facts.
His defence has been pretty good, but his offence is costing them games. It becomes 4vs 5 out there in the 4th with him on the floor, or even 4 vs 6 as his free throws are that terrible he might as well play for the other team.

And just so you're aware, don't come out saying "oh, you don't watch the games" when for a fact I have seen every Rockets game this season, maybe not the whole game, as I switched between a couple, but a pretty damn lot of them, and yes, I have watched entire 4th quarters.
Rockets would be better of sitting Dwight in the last 6 minutes.

I'm a Laker fan and I am glad he is gone. I never wanted him in the first place. I liked him a lot prior to everything coming out about how fake he is. I couldn't decide who would be worse to have, him or Bynum because they both have terrible attitudes.

I enjoy seeing Dwight fail because he really is a big baby.

However, I do agree with you that Laker fans being pissy because he left are retarded, lol. He was there for a season- not like he was there for 10 years or something. Even then, I think players should do whatever they want because it isn't like organizations are going to show loyalty to their players. It's such a double standard. It is a job- they are going to go where they feel most satisfied and where they can accomplish their goals (whether it be most money, more championships, great location, etc). I thought it was retarded that Ohio was so butt-hurt over LBJ leaving. Burning his jersey and shit, lol. Like really? Just goes to show that people really have no perspective on life if an athlete leaving for greener pastures really rustles their jimmies that much.

I also agree that there is nothing funny- he went for a strong move and got blocked. He has done this hundreds of times to other players, lol.

Probably is the best center in the NBA, but that's not saying a whole lot.

The only time the FO f*cked up with Dwight Howard was bringing him to LA in the first place. The guy just isn't a winner. He just doesn't have it in him. He is a clown. A midtier franchise like Houston or Atlanta is where he belongs.

D12 does it again! Dominated on both ends of the floor by Andrea Bargnani

Dwight wins the game for Houston tonight. Sinks two clutch free throws and puts the nail in the coffin. Incredible performance on defense tonight, and seals the game.

Dwight Godard.

It was against the knicks man, this is similar to a win vs the bobcats, not worth bragging about.

On defense he got lit up by Bargnani. On offense, Bargnani shut him down.

He also has done his best to drive elite rebounder Omer Asik out of town.
