If you are a high usage player, you're bound to hit some late game shots since you're going to have the ball in your hands often.

Lebron.. Oh wait it's the other way around.

Correct. I don't believe in "clutch" shit really, it's just amusing how certain players seem to do this. Honestly, their team wouldn't be in the position they were in if they hadn't shot 4-17 in the first place

Ginobili.
Cassell, too? One of those early 00 PGs. Not thinking of Bibby, tho, he was obviously a clutch shot maker.

JR Smith is always terrible, and he loves to jack up last second shot so naturally he's bound to make one.

This sort of describes Travis Outlaw back when he played with the Blazers.
Put that mofo in the game with under 4 minutes, and he's suddenly nailing 75% of his shots.

To me it's just a player's ability to fight off his jitters, tune out the crowd and play the game with 100% focus for the last possession.

Agreed with the second part, what about clutch dont you believe in? To me its all about poise, Joe Johnson's layup against phoenix was oh so smooth and controlled. Being clutch is about confidence and not getting shook, whats not to believe?

Does anyone have actual proof that is the Lakers though? Could just be some random grade school team. Any source on that?

Anyone remember that Kobe 3/21 game vs the Hornets where he made the game winning 3? Konex added to his case for Lakers MVP that game.

Robert Horry wouldn't do shit all night and then hit the game winner.

Yes it's them. Was posted sometime last year on one of the Lakers' correspondants' Twitter.

yea it's a mental thing. I don't get why some people think it's fake. It does exist. certain players can focus more sharp during certain situations. Clutch does exist.

I think SI did some kind of write up on the "clutch gene" a while back.
Said people like MJ and Tiger Woods had it. And that's what separated them from the rest of the pack.

Reggie Miller would occasionally have a horrendous shooting night, but everyone would still be scared to death if he somehow got the ball in the last possession. Robert Horry, of course, but in his later days he didn't play enough to be 'terrible all game'. Ginobili, Billups...
Basically all streaky 3 point shooters with an 'assassin' reputation qualify for this description. Hot or cold, they're going to take that last shot, and they just might make it... Because of their history, everyone is going to be holding their breaths when that ball is up in the air.
