Still a better player than Waiters.

Man, that is putrid. The weird thing about Drummond is he lacks a major hitch or signature that would make it easy to discover exactly why he's so bad from the stripe. His process does not flow well (ends up being an arms-only shot) but it's kind of crazy how he seems to be so good at finding a way for that stroke to not put the ball in the hole.

This guy can hire Dwight Howard to tutor his FT shooting and might actually just improve

He shoots it with two hands almost, his elbow is way way way out and his left hand is almost on the front of the ball.

The Lakers commentators were talking about it. They noticed he doesn't use his legs in the actual shot, just for show before shooting the FTs with his hands.

he had .37 last season... he doesnt go to the line a lot right now but if he wants to be a good offensive player he needs to get to .50 at least

anyway, still more potential than anyone on the Cavs roster.

He's only attempted 13 free throws in like 8-9 games so it's really not hurting them at all. Josh Smith's/Brandon Jennings shot selecton at this point is the thing they should be worried about.

He should try shooting them with his eyes closed.

How has such a physical player only shot 13 in 9 games?

How has such a physical player only shot 13 in 9 games?Since he has virtually no back-to-the-basket post up ability, Drummond rarely holds the ball on offense. He tends to score primarily on lobs and tips. Elsewise, the rock is in the hands of Greg Monroe, Josh Smith, or Brandon Jennings.

Deandre Jordan is pretty much same way and he has shot 57.

Deandre Jordan is pretty much same way and he has shot 57.Yeah, I was going to make a comparison to Jordan in that last post until I saw he'd attempted 57 so far. I don't really have an answer for that one. Maybe it has to do with the team system. It just seems, when I watch the Pistons, there's not a lot of opportunities for Drummond to get fouled.

It prob partially because 1) because of the whole "lob city"/posterize thing opponents go in with the mentality of just fouling Griffin/Jordan if they are anywhere near a dunk opportunity. 2) hack-a-jordan.

Still, even with that, it's strange.

OP is mad that the Cavs didn't pick Drummond. He is averaging 12/12 shooting 66% from the field.

How is Bennett doing? :oldlol:
