Dude is such a crybaby. He's bringing the team down every game just because he always looks salty at D12. Trade the B!TCH to a place that would appreciate his large a--hole.

Omer Asik for Jordan Hill?

I agree, if Asik doesn't want to play as a Rocket, then he is just wasting space on the bench. He needs to be banned from the arena. Let him b!tch and moan about not getting PT at home.

I just picked him up in fantasy, I'm expecting a trade soon.

I'm thinking they're going to give him more minutes and let him do his thing to get his trade value up and trade his ass. Then he should be back to putting up big rebounding numbers.

So many Dwight apologists in this thread...

Asik has proven that he plays with heart and is one of the better players at his position. D12 has been in a steady decline since his Orlando days and only gets the nod because of name recognition.

I'm laughing at the thread title because it involves the wrong name at the beginning. That title belongs to Dwight and anyone who argues that over the last few years, is in denial. That salty look Asik is giving Dwight? Same salty look Dwight had on the Magic after calling out his own coach and demanding trades after signing an extension.

Same salty look he had when he failed with the Lakers in the Playoffs when Kobe was out and he had the entire team to lead. Same salty look he had when the Lakers beat the Rockets with a Steve Blake 3 point buzzer beater.

Asik has a career year then gets relegated to mop up duty!

From a players perspective they play to win, perform and also importantly their next contract.

Houston are setting up Omar for failure and rightly so Asik is not buying it and wants out.

Asik is in his prime!

If you have proven your a starting level player and still in your prime without any injuries you have every right to be pissed off about having your spot taken, some people play basketball to both win and actually play rather than waste away on the bench.

I would do the same thing if I were Asik.

That would give the Rockets a shooting Pf/C and it would add to the spacing

Getting replaced by Dwight Howard after a great year Asik had, I'd be pissed too

Dwight's just a drama, puts butts in the seats, gives you mre media attention, Hollywood esque player to have.

Asik goes to work. His offense is not good at all but he brings it defensively. Good center

The Rockets not trading Asik is one of the more stupid moves (non-moves?) in the league this year.

He has too much value/ability to just stash on the bench. Either play the 10/12/2 guy, or trade him to a team that would give you an asset back. And I'm sure there are plenty.

You telling me Dallas wouldn't trade some contracts and a first for him? Thunder wouldn't give you Perk and a first? I'm sure there are other teams that would be interested, too.

Why is everyone dissing on Omer for doing what's best for himself?

Being an NBA player is a short career and wasting it even for 1 year or 2 can have a drastic negative impact on future potential earnings.

I hope he goes to a better situation where he is happy.

Not saying you can't have an opinion, but if you're going to call someone out on being a bitch, one's own life decisions should be listed for everyone to see, unless op is going to claim he's never acted like a bitch in his entire life.

Doesn't matter how much money you make, everyone does selfish things on every level, its called being human.

Asik to OKC for Ibaka, Lamb, and a pick

scm5
11-20-2013, 04:17 PM
OKC should be going after Asik so hard right now.

Steven Adams looks really promising but is still a project at this point. OKC is in "win now" mode and Asik is more developed than Adams is currently. OKC would be able to throw in Lamb and not hurt very much. Jackson is developing well and SG seems like a position that fits Westbrook more naturally. They should be able to run the floor well together.

On Houston's end, you get rid of Asik who doesn't want to be there and you get Adams who has looked like he could be a serviceable backup to Dwight for now and might develop into an Asik-level player or better in the coming years.

Asik to OKC for Ibaka, Lamb, and a pick

Ibaka >> Asik

Why would OKC do this?

Steve Adams and Lamb or a pick should do it for Asik.
