2014 mazda3 iSport = 19.9k
2014 ford focus se = 17.1k
both new and have around the same msrp
the mazda3 is my 1st choice but the price is on the high side due to demand..i'm trying to get the dealers to go lower but so far i'm not having any luck. the focus is really cheap though, it's a good 2nd choice for me. since 2012 it's been getting great reviews.
i need to make a decision this week (or today)..i can't wait any longer :D

i'm pretty sure they are the same car with different body panels and slightly different interiors. Get whichever is cheaper.

Ford = cheaper maintenance
Get the focus
Depends on what your needs/wants are. The Mazda is a better performing car overall, the Ford I think is more stylish.
Both good cars you can't go wrong really...

the 2014 mazda3 imo looks better (2013 mazda3 was plain ugly to me), but it looks like i'll be getting the ford then. thanks!

Mazda3 looks better and has more features. Focus has better performance. I actually recently researched the premium version of both these vehicles, and ended up buying a Subaru Crosstrek instead.

i'm pretty sure they are still based on the same platform, At the very least up until 2013, but i think the 2014's still share a lot of the same parts. Look it up and don't take the sales guy's word for it.
