If Davis keeps up his production for the entire season, how can you possibly leave him out of your top 5 best players? When was the last time this happened this quickly? Duncan?

LeBron
Durant
Paul
Love(??)
?????

I'd take him over everyone else right now.

I would say he's already a lock for the hall of fame just on what's happened this season.

He has a losing record - does he get a free pass for this?

No, but KG had losing records in Minny when he was still debatable top 5.

He'll make his move on top 5 if he keeps playing like he has, but I think he needs 1-2 more seasons before this is to happen to establish consistency.

Top 5 all time, without a doubt.

More dominant than Shaq in the paint, better footwork than Hakeem in the post, better skyhook than Kareem.

There's a pretty big drop off after #3 so top 5 isn't that ridiculous. Who other than KD, LeBron and cp3 is clearly better than him?

I'd go with the best big man in the game, Dwight Howard

If he can return to Orlando form then definitely.

Um, I would say Anthony Davis so far this season has been better than any form of Dwight.

Peak Dwight was a beast, but he had his weaknesses. Free Throw shooting and turnovers plagued him then as it does now.

Davis is a much more complete player.

I think it's fair to say that Anthony Davis has been top 5 so far this season, but we're only about 10 games into the season, and I think it's far too early to say if he is actually a top 5 player.

2011 Dwight was the MVP in my eyes. IMO Davis will peak higher than that but he's not there yet.

I love unibrow but admittedly I have not watched too many of his games. Is he gonna become a guy that you can throw the ball down to, and let him work in the post? The highlights I've seen are usually of him getting a pass and dunking. Dwight was that kinda guy in 2011. Sure he didn't have many moves but he could overpower most centers and dominate that position.

He's light years better than Howard on offense. Dude can shoot.

Going by that logic he's also better than Shaq. Yes AD has less holes in his game, but he does not impact a game the way Dwight did.

I think it's better to say that he is more versatile than Howard not better offensively otherwise we would say he is better than Shaq. I still have to watch some of his games, but judging from the stats, he isn't a great finisher. Only shooting 58% ish around the rim. His midrange shot I think is about league average around the 16-3pt, 28%. I think his 10-16 ft is a bit bad. Like only 29% or something like that?

If you take the logic out of context, then yes. If you're comparing Davis currently and Dwight at his peak, they are similar in their impact of the game.

The only reason why the Pelicans have a losing record right now is because of how slow Jrue and Tyreke were to start off the season.

This year I think he's going to have some peaks and valleys but next year when he enters the year "knowing" he can dominate he's going to really beast. Right now its more or less, "wow, I can do this?"

You would have to be a world class idiot to take Kobe over Anthony Davis in 2013.

I need to see a guy in the playoffs before I rank him that high.

He def. looks good now though.

Give me LaMarcus Aldridge or Paul George over Davis. Davis has greatly improved, but not top 5.

I'd still give Melo a slight edge over PG. He's been getting a lot of ****, but he's been balling lately.

Lillard is currently in a funk. I understand the selection of Aldridge because of their record but Davis is already one of the top 10 players in the league. :(
