To me this would be a better fit than going to the Lakers with Kobe.

I'm not really into all the GM/FO stuff so for those of you that are what would Clippers have to give up?

Is it possible for Melo to sign as a FA with them in 2014?

How do you figure?

Melo relies on iso and loves holding the ball, which is contrary to Paul's style. They'd clash in a big way.

did you see how amazing melo was in the olympics? when he isn't the only option on a team for scoring, he's the best option. if that makes sense, lol.

put him next to any real superstar (not fake stars like amare, chandler, and whoever else the knicks wanted to overpay)

You mean Melo looked amazing playing next to the best players in the world against sub par competition with a shortened 3 point line? Tell me more.

:facepalm thats' the olympics, it's a short exhibition tournament. no one cares about stats in the olympics, you gotta be high to think melo would sustain that brand of unselfish ball for an entire season.

Melo can actually score in the half court offense.

Clippers would be legit contenders with a Blake/Melo swap. They'd need a better back up PF to spell Anthony when he moves to the 3 but yeah.

Cp3/Melo in the half court come playoff time would be fun to watch, Melo's biggest problem in the playoffs is he never has another play maker to set him up so he's forced into creating shots for himself more than he'd usually like, especially considering the defense is so focused on him without the threat of another dangerous offensive player, for example, check out his 09 WCF run when he had an aging Billups who was still effective at running the point..

CP3 would change that

yep and that's why every all-star put up 39 points in limited minutes in the span of just one game

International play is too small a sample size played out under conditions that have no relevance to the NBA.

Anybody, even Melo can be a team player for a handful of games when he's surrounded by players better than him.

Fact is Melo is a low BB IQ selfish player. I question if he'd be able to play next to a guy like Kobe or CP3 over an 82 game season, I have serious doubts.

people forget that he and AI had no issues sharing the ball

How can Melo be cited as one of, if not, the most potent offensive players in the league and be considered low BB IQ? I'm having a hard time adjusting to that possibility. Just because he plays hero ball does not mean he isn't hilariously skilled.

I'm pretty sure the Clippers can't afford 3 max contracts.

Lol at Melo CP3 combo.

Pick N Rolls and breaking down defenses just for Paul to kick it out to Melo to ISO and Triple Threat for 5 seconds.

:facepalm

how many times does Blake get the ball of the pick and roll and is unable to do anything with it?

If he doesn't catch it low enough he just stands there and looks to pass. They don't even have to play to the mid range shot.

Melo can finish just as effectively and I don't even need to mention how much better he is off the dribble, posting up, mid range, 3pt, ball handling and passing when compared to BG

Are you watching last year's games?

Are you watching last year's games?

I've only seen maybe 3 Clippers games this year.

He's improved, not enough to he's more effective than Melo in the half court offense. Melos game is perfectly suited to play alongside CP3.

I have seen a lot more Melo that i have Blake, however I still feel Melos game is better suited to Paul than Blakes is.

Are you insinuating Blake has improved enough to actually be relied on offensively in the playoffs?

I'll watch the OKC game tonight, will look at Blake to see how much he's improved

The only player who looked better was kevin durant, and the main reason being because he had more minutes, and obviously plays better defense.

Too small of sample size? Lol, we aren't doing a science project geek, he's still one of the best scorer's in the game, putting him next to another great player, especially a pass first great player would obviously show his skill set off even more.

He's never been given the opportunity to play with someone better than himself. He's always been the best player on teh team, the only time there was someone close to his level was AI, and they did really well together.

I can't get over how much this forum hates melo, he isn't a bitchy drama queen, he's a great scorer who doesn't care about defense. show this dude some love, he deserves it.

Not buying it... sorry, that's some unicorn and rainbows sh*t right there.

I think in his 11th year I can safely say Melo is who he is. He's not going to change, he's not going to suddenly become a different player, he doesn't have that ability, if he did we'd have seen it by now. Too many games gone by to tell me he has another gear we all haven't seen because of the players around him

it's not about seeing what isn't there, it's about appreciating what IS there. you call him a selfish player, i don't see that. he takes more shots because he is the best option to score, and it's not like he's doing the kobe thing throwing up fade aways while being triple covered.

the hate he receives is unwarranted.

**disclaimer, im a lakers fan, not a melo fanboi, i just know how to appreciate talent for what it is.

Clippers would never consider dealing Blake for Melo, so unless Knicks are fine with Bullock and a pick swap option, its all moot

Melo would do well with CP3 I think.

Best trade for Clips though is Blake for Kevin Love.

Love + CP3 would be bananas.

They would if Love told them he will not be re-signing and wants to go to a big market.

He has an opt out coming up.
