Currently a top 10 SG in the league?
2nd year players shouldn't be eligible for MIP award. theyre supposed to improve dramatically, especially if theyre a lottery pick, by their 2nd year.
that said i have him on my both my fantasy teams. BEAL WITH IT

I really like Beal though. Lights out shooter. Maybe the Ray Allen comparisons weren't so crazy after all.

Isn't the the SG position thin at the moment???
I think he should be in the top 10 solidly
Wade
Kobe
Harden
After those 3 seems like a toss up. Also Kobe is coming off a serious injury while Wade is dealing with some issues as well. Definitely some room for up and coming young guards to vault themselves into the top 5.

How's Beal's defense?
Klay Thompson will probably be in the running and his defense has been pretty damn solid.

A player should always improve in his 2nd year.

I keep hearing this about Thompson but every time I watch him, he constantly gets burned by the player hes guarding. Whats his strength on defense? Man to man, team, or passing lanes?

It's solid, he competes and moves his feet really well and is able to challenge shots. He'll lose his man occasionally off the ball, but that's kind of understandable from a young player on defense. He's also an excellent rebounder at the 2.

I think a lot of that has to do with Thompson not guarding his own position and being matched up with the opposing team's point guard a lot.

Exactly. Improvement in your second year shouldn't be an 'expectation', the sophomore slump is common even among players who end up great.
