Yet another good reason to wait a bit and see how things pan out. Either one of those consoles can have a RROD-like issue and i don't wanna deal with the hassle.

No, I'll probably wait a year before I switch to next gen. I learned my lesson with the 360 about buying a console at launch. I ended up with a 12 gig hd, no hdmi input, and a console that bricked twice. I want to make sure that I buy a solid product and I'm leaning towards a PS4 this time around. I'm thinking about ordering a PS3 next week though, because that amazon black friday bundle deal is too good for me to pass up.

The system will constantly and automatically collect data on all users in the room. It can monitor your body temperature and blood pressure in order to determine how you react to different advertisements. M$ will then create a profile on your reactions, and sell them to advertising agencies.

If you don't mind being data mined 24/7 and having a company make millions off selling your personal profile to the highest bidder... be my guest and buy an XBone.

I preferred the original set up. To buy and sell freely, they got rid of the feature that allows you to designate 10 people as "family/friends" that you could share games with. That meant that you could have pooled together 10 people, chipped in $6 each and got a brand new game for you to all play together. That is way better than having the ability to wait 2 months to buy a game for $25-30 and hoping your friends decide to buy the same game.

I don't want to have to find 10 people that want to play the same game I do to get it cheap. And then waiting my turn to play it. I like being able to walk into Game Stop and picking up something I was curious about for 15-20 bucks.

That wasn't how that was going to work, lol. Microsoft has never disclosed their original plan fully, and that plan clearly wasn't fully fleshed out yet to begin with. But they were never going to let you share unlimited access to all your games with 9 other Xbox one systems, that's just plain idiocy.

Thanks for the info but when it comes to video games I like the RPGS and generally don't want to investigate which people I know that do or don't want to buy it with me. I'm generally an impulse buyer that goes into a shop and thinks, "eh, it's just 20 bucks, let's check this out."

Too much of the next generation is heading toward being set top boxes which control everything. PS4 is like that, but at least it's more gamecentric. XBone is even worse, so much setup, wants so much to be integrated with TV, controlled via Kinect. I know some people like that but not me. I'll instead get a PS4 when Infamous comes out.

The techologies they've adopted in recent years (touch screen, motion controls, 3d, dual screen, tablet control) have all been distinctly anti-PC, they deliberately sidestepped the currently PC dominated system power competition, they remain purely gaming focused and they put the most prominent effort in creating exclusive content.

Ever tried Kinnect? It should never be the primary means of gaming, but it is a nice supplemental thing that can add fun, especially when guests are over. It is also nice that it recognizes faces and you can hand over a controller and it instantly knows to count stats for the new user holding the controller. The pause and instantly be able to go to a TV show or something like that is also a huge addition IMO, because I use my xbox for most of my entertainment anyway.

Also, I can imagine it can become useful for games like sports games. It would be great to be able to call out plays verbally while playing with a controller. Imagine calling audibles verbally on future Madden games.

But if I were, I definitely would go Sony switching from Microsoft. If ps4 was free Internet again I would of made the jump.

the new 2k graphics are pretty awesome. Aside from that though all the other launch games that did interest me have had bad\average reviews which is why I'll keep waiting. I'm still not sold either way on ps4 or xbox one though.
