He's a shit person, no doubt, but injuries did him in. Quit being stupid. At his best, he was the second best PG in the league.

I dont understand how he has been exposed as a fraud. injuries pretty much has kept him under the bar. When healthy Williams has been a pretty decent PG, probably top 5....when healthy.

Dont be stupid
CP3 was the best in the league since 08 but Nash was easily 2nd

Never underestimate the ability of John Stockton's only professional coach to bring out the best in point guards. Williams has publicly admitted that Utah was a perfect fit for him.

I'm amazed by how much he has fallen the **** off compared to his Utah days. He's constantly injured but even when he manages to stay on the court he often looks like a shell of his former self. If I was a Nets fans I would be really frustrated with his performance. I mean just remembering that Bull series last season... :facepalm
Nets have no chance unless DWill can get it together somehow.

From 08 to 11, he was easily the second best. Stop.

No he wasnt dumb nikka:roll:   He only easy 2nd in 10 b/c CP3 got hurt. And u cant even build strong argument against Nash for D versus Deron like u can with CP because Deron sucks on D too
08-CP3, Nash, Deron
09-CP3, Nash, Billups. Parker play good too
10-Nash, Deron
11-CP3, Rose, Nash
This guy really said Parker and Billups.
Billups.
You literally have no cred.

Did CP3 die? He was never the best PG, I am really starting to believe now that he was a product of the Sloan system just like Boozer.

Young guns were to young back  then to realize how good Deron was. And saying Boozer was good because of the Sloan's system is an insult, he worked his ass off to become the player he is today (multiple all stars). CP3 had injury plagued years and bounced back well. Not to take credit away from him but having 2 athletic monsters that can smash anything 10 feet near the basketball makes his life as a PG much easier. Eg. when Tyson Chandler left CP3s production fell. Deron when healthy has took his team to the WCF. If you have any memory of what happened last season, towards the end of the season when Deron recovered he put up some beastly stats.

Op is a little slow.
He was exposed about 2.5 years ago and He's barely played this year.
PP and KG have been exposed this season.
Rondo and Doc made those guys the last couple season as players don't fall off a cliff this hard.

hawkfan Trade Scenario (where amazing happens forever):
Kings get
Paul Pierce (expirer)
Nyets get
Marcus Thornton
John Salmons (expirer)
The Nets get two younger, more athletic wings.
The Kings get Pierce. They then buy him out, so he can finish his career someplace else (OKC, Indiana, Chicago). The Kings also get rid of Thornton's contract next season.

He still hasn't been exposed. He played poorly for the Nets, but he was still a star and last season he was great in the second half. Exposed isn't the right word, maybe disappointing but not exposed.

Chandler's departure cost NOLA wins but didn't affect CP's production. Chandler was a shell of himself in 09 when he did play, which was CP's best statistical season

I wouldnt say Pierce and Garnett are getting "exposed". That word is being used too freely around here. They're just old. I think KG should've retired about 2 years ago.
The same people that call CP3 the best PG in the league will be the ones that say "ohh he can't get out of the first round, overrated piece of crap. Not even a top 10 PG"
I think Deron is a top 3 PG when healthy.

he's been injured so far this season.
however, he was exposed long before this season. :lol

They're 36 and 37 years old respectively, how effective do you expect them to be? Not everyone can age like Duncan.

I think that's true, but the longer it goes, you wonder if "when healthy" is a memory. Maybe this is what he is now? I like Deron a lot, but he has been playing like ass for a long time.
I said already that this is the season he's gotta come in, somehow, and prove some shit because he's their only experienced player that still has the ability to be a star. At least I assume he does. Deron doesn't play off athleticism or anything, either, so it's hard to imagine why he's been so bad.

There was a point where he was pretty much the best PG in the league. He had a size and strength advantage on CP3, had midrange, the 3 ball, handles with the best crossover in the league, good post defense, great passing, clutch, leadership, and unlike CP3, he could yam it on fools.
CP3 and Deron have been going at it since college, and Deron got the better of him a lot until he left the Jazz.
Now it's no contest, CP3 kept his elite status and Deron didn't.

75% as effective as early in 2013 would have been nice.

He's 2-1 against Paul since he's been on the Nets as well despite the Clippers being the car superior team.

Although I always had CP over Deron, this post speaks to what the prevailing opinion at the time was. People in here acting like Deron was always garbage or a system player are kidding themselves. He had everything as a PG except elite defense.

deron is the biggest example of a system player in nba history

He had a great second half the season last year and was average 14 apg when first traded to NJ. He's an excellent PG.. when fully healthy.
BTW.. Sloan wasn't fired.

Were Stockton and Malone as well?
Malone failed outside of Utah and Stockton we never saw outside of Utah.
And was he also a product of Sloan at Illinois?
I'm probably the biggest Deron hater of any Nets fan and have been a while, but it's a stupid argument with no basis. When fully healthy he's played like a top 3 PG.. the fact is we never see that Deron though because he's either out of shape or injured.

Great logical post, NOTHING to take away from CP3 but DWILL when healthy is amazing and was on PAR to CP3. Hopefully he recovers one of thesse days. CP3 recovered well from his injury and has been great the past few years, hopefully DWILL can recover and stay healthy and keep that healthy competition with CP3. This league lacks great passing PGs currently and I miss that crap.

Except D.Will is past his prime and several PGs have passed him for good.. Curry, Rose, Lillard, Wall, Rondo to name a few.
He did play like a top 3 PG for about 50 games last season, but I don't expect to see that again.

Deron used to be one of my favorite players, disappointed at how he has turned into what he is now.
It's been all downhill ever since he forced Sloan into retirement. This is a good read if anyone is interested
