i had faith that knicks and nets wouldn't suck this bad but new york is really not the place for good pro basketball teams.
I still hope that nets turn it around after they are healthy as i will be living 5 mins from their arena for a few months next year and i only go to games if both teams are good.

70 is an extremely tall order. The most recent teams that come to mind are Bron's Cavs when they won 66. And the Celtics Big three the first year they assembled and won 68.

their bench is not that impressive. if the starting unit plays all 82 games, then yes they have a chance but most people know if you clinch the #1 seed at the end of the season, you just rest people and records never get broken

the question is, if somehow they gett lucky, healthy, and hot long enough to break bulls 72 win record, would it have an asterisk seeing how this year is a tanking season

This. Not hating but if the pacers or heat achieve 70 is it as impressive?
Even though the competition is piss poor winning 70 is still hard to do obviously.

Also if the pacers win 70 then lose in the ecf does that make it even less of an achievement?

00 Lakers and 07 Mavs won 67 games. 08 Celtics won 66.

You are correct, sir. LBJ's heat won 66 last year, as did his Cavs and the 08 big three Celtics.

Infact, a team has won 65 or more games 15 times, since the inception of the 82-game schedule.

3 teams have failed to win it all, while the other 12 took home the Championship. The three that managed to lose, despite winning 65 regular season games? The 73' Celtics, who lost in the ECF; LeBron's Cavs, who also lost in the ECF; and Dirk's Mavs, who lost in the 1st round. lol

Still, pretty crazy that when a team won 65 or more regular season games, they go on to win it all 12/15 times; or 80% of the time.

Securing HCA throughout playoffs is always key, esp now that they've reverted back to 2-2-1-1-1 format. Teams that win that many games have great chemistry and are relatively injury-free, least when it comes to key players, largely because they blow out opponents and stars get to rest.

If anything the Cavs winning 66 should give them confidence, this pacers team is so much better

'13 Heat also won 66

I doubt it.

The east might be weak, but the Pacers also have to play against every western conference team twice, and against the Heat four times.

And over an 82 game season it's almost inevitable that you lose at least a few games because of injuries, and a few more to bad teams when you're just having an off night.

The Pacers have had the easiest schedule in the league until now. They will start playing West Coast teams and those games will not be a walk in the park like what they are used to in the Eastern Conference. They barely beat a Clippers team that is not fully healthy.

We could easily have 2 65+ teams in the east this season.
