I've always heard the expressions, "you never forget your first love" and "the one that got away" and wondered if it actually holds weight. This is more of a question for the older gents, and especially the married ones.

you will forget your first breakup pretty easily though after ****ing a few more girls as first loves are pretty stupid most of the time.

sometimes the one that gets away becomes an idealized love. I have had subsequently hooked up and dated "ones that got away" and it's tragic because it doesn't live up to your fantasy in the slightest
