Absolutely trashed it, only 2 teams have winning records, the top 2 teams beat up on a bunch of inferior teams they have the pleasure of playing 3-4 times per year.

I'm not usually one to hate on the east, but damn Grant Hill and Kenny Smith calling it the "least".

How many teams with winning records has Miami or IND played? My guess is less than 5 each..

Has the NBA ever had a conference perform THIS poorly?

These numbers are disgusting:

Pacers played 2 teams over 0.500, went 1-1

Miami played 2, went 2-0

Pacers ain't shit. Worst SOS in the league tbh.

Easy to say they have the two best teams based on record but they've each only faced like 2-3 teams with winning records thus far

Miami has had the easiest schedule in the league, Pacers have had the 3rd easiest.

So judging by that, OKC, San Antonio and Portland's records are more impressive

Yea the East sucks and the West is stacked but why do I feel like most of the West teams aren't real contenders for the title. This is not like the mid 2000s when it seemed like the West had multiple contenders every season.

26 - 63 vs the west.

There are 2 real contenders out west, with another 3 that have an outside shot IMO.

They should have 4 teams from the East and 12 from the West elligble for the playoffs.

If the Hawks had kept Josh Smith along with adding Paul Millsap, the Hawks would be clearly in the top 3 teams in the East, and possibly even better than the Pacers.

Teague is better than Hill, and Korver is a better shooter than Stephenson, and Granger is still battling injuries.

Yo, they DISRESPECTED the East. Don't DISRESPECT. Yo, you better apologize for DISRESPECTING them. DISRESPECT!

The East is this bad, and the crazy thing is some of these teams haven't even really started to try to lose yet.

If the Celtics win the Atlantic and get the four seed, I'd fully expect Danny Ainge to fire Brad Stevens. And the Sixers are hot on their heels, but if they're still like this come the all star break, I'd guess MCW comes down with NerlensNoelitis. He's already starting to miss road trips with hamstring tightness. I think these teams that weren't expecting or hoping to win are starting to get nervous.

The West was just as bad if not worse in the 1980s. Why do you think the Lakers went to 9 Finals during the decade. They were literally the only team that could beat an Eastern team.

Moral of the story: these things go in cycles.

I haven't been watching this season but people are just talking about records and not the actual games. Is it possible that most of the teams in the West are actually mediocre teams feasting on bad East teams? If that is the case it means that the West isn't as stacked in as much as they are just benefiting off of a terrible East division.

Something needs to be done about tanking. Even if the upcoming draft had the new Hakeem, Dr. J, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway and Dwyane Wade in it, but also the new John Wall, Blake Griffin Danny Granger, Andre Iguodala Michael Redd and Brandon Roy (which according to some people is actually what's coming to the NBA next year :D) there is something disturbing about the idea that you would basically forfeit the season to get one of those.

That is a long ass cycle.

1980s - East is better
1990s - East is better
2000s - West is better
2010s - West is better

East has young promising players, and it seems likely they were get the lion's share of this year's rich draft class.

What I hate that the Celtics are probably going to be a top 3 seed in the playoffs with Rondo if the East keeps being this shit

don't you think that maybe removing Smith made the Hawks better?
