Wendy’s Employee Tops Burger W/Half-smoked Marijuana Joint

A Wendy's employee in Lovejoy, Georgia, ended up in jail last month after she allegedly "misplaced" the blunt she was smoking inside a burger that was served to a customer.

Amy Seiber, 32, was fired and arrested after 'accident.'

The customer, Shalon Travis, found the half-smoked blunt in her cheeseburger she purchased on November 1.

"Upon arrival at home, she took her food out of the bag and noticed a strange odor in her hamburger," Lt. Michael Gaddis told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"When she opened it, she discovered a partially smoked marijuana cigarette."

Travis returned to the burger joint and called the cops after speaking with the manager.

When officers arrived, they confronted 32-year-old Amy Seiber, who reportedly confessed to the crime.

"They were able to speak with the suspect, who admitted that she was responsible," Gaddis told the paper.

"She had been smoking while she worked. When she was fixing the burger, part of the marijuana fell into the burger."

Wendy's has since fired Seiber and released a statement saying she broke the rules by "not follow[ing] proper food handling steps."

Travis claimed she experienced "food poisoning-type symptoms" following the incident, which required her hospitalization.

However, it remains unclear if she consumed any part of the tainted "bluntburger."

Nonetheless, the company offered to pay the customer's medical expenses and "has even generously thrown in a $50 gift certificate," according to TMZ.

the only thing that looks good on that burger is the blunt.

The joint probably would do less damage to her system than the burger.

The biggest part of the story is that a 32 year old is working at Wendy's. This is the biggest problem in America. She is pulling in less than $20,000 a year, living off of every government benefit possible and is not contributing to the economy in any such way but instead, leaching off it. Then she is wasting her shit earned money on drugs. What an American.:facepalm

Fast-food workers are planning strikes in 100 cities across the country December 6, in an effort to step up pressure on chains including McDonald

Now she's in prison costing even more and won't ever be able to get a half-decent job due to dat criminal record.

What a system :lol .

Was foolish of her to admit it.

if true, that's horrible.
'Supporters say that the average age for a fast-food worker is actually 29, and that a quarter of them are raising children...'

They aren't all working on minimum wage, and there are plenty of career jobs at these places and most who are working them get an array of benefits on top of their wages.

sure, that seems clear.

but working at a fast food chain is the type of mind numbing shitt that an adult, particularly someone raising kids, would be above.

that's such a low bar to be setting for your kids.

what's truly horrible is the laziness.

I would hate it but what if that's all you can get? You're viewing all of them negatively, on the flip side working that dull job at Wendy's is often the best they can do to support those kids. And it's not a job for the lazy. Knowing myself, I don't think I could work at fast food because I would hate being rushed to put burgers together as fast as humanly possible. It's not work for the intelligent or educated but I wouldn't call it work for the lazy. You talk about setting the bar low for their kids, would being unemployed somehow be better? Everyone can't grow up to be a doctor, someone has to stock shelves and flip burgers.

I agree it's not work for the "lazy" but excluding immigrants, how bad did you have to **** up in life to work at Wendy's at 32 years old? Sure, they can't be all be doctors, but go to the library and educate yourself for free and teach yourself a skill set that will allow you to get paid more than $20,000 a year instead of living off of every government benefit available and paying a 2% effective tax rate, and contributing $3,000 a year into the economy with half of that being drugs. At 18 years old I felt ashamed of myself for earning $16,500 that year. These people are raising kids off that money and show no signs of bettering there lives because they love those darn benefits.

working in food service is NOT lazy, imo. not at all.

working at a chain restaurant (e.g., wendys, KFC) is lazy, imo.

"setting the bar" for our kids , as far as I'm concerned, relates to everyday choices like nutrition, financial budgeting, drug/alcohol addiction, etc.

of course i'm not saying it's better to be unemployed than work at a burger joint.

We have a 7% unemployment rate. You are acting like all of these fast food employees could have been some kind of skilled worker. That isn't the case. Better choices when they were younger could have led to a better job. Sure, ok. But they didn't make those choices and must deal with whatever their current reality is. I for one would rather a person take that job at McDonald's than become a mugger or sell crack. You cite tax burden and other statistics that the average fast food employee would not give a crap about. Well, they'd be getting (or at least, need) even more government assistance if they didn't have a job and things are even worse if they turn to crime. So all in all, I'm not going to be mad at them just because they work a job that I would not.

yeah there are probably more unemployeed parents out there than working at fast food joints...maybe some because they think they are 'above that' and would rather just be jobless or sell drugs

we should support people that in are in the work force rather than black market shit...not get down on them

I grew up with a single mom raising four kids. That's all I'm going to say about my life. And I wouldn't have had it any other way. That's why I find it more irritating seeing 30-40 year olds working at McDonald's and then claiming that they are not getting enough benefits from the government or enough money from their job.
