no matter what you do KOBE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> you so get a life bro... you would expect a veteran who just came back from injury despite not being 100% to come back and play like the player they were 5 years ago ?

Kobe is still better than most sg's in this league i am not even a big kobe bryant fan ..

Well, not last night he wasn't. Let's give Kobe some time before we say he is "done/overpaid" AND/OR "still better than most SGs in the league."

It's his first game back yall.

based on Kobe's today's appearance in the court, Lakers/time warner have generated around 10millions in one day. ONE DAY.

So not amnestying this old injured 35 year old for a year was a good idea?
Giving him this bloated extension was a good idea?

:kobe:

I don't think it was a good idea, but at the same time it was more of a loyalty move. Kobe has been in LA all his career and helped bring home 5 rings. I still think Kobe should've restructured and taken less cash so the Lakers could be more flexible and compete, but that's just me. The guy makes a ton of money off of his shoe deal/endorsements so I don't think he is hurting for cash, but then again I don't know/follow Kobe's financial obligations.

yeah, 10 to 15 mil a year would have been more fair for both kobe and the team.........they can

:kobe:
Financially, yes.

Whats more important to an owner making money or winning.
Kobe is going to help lock down that local tv deal for the lakers.
I forget the numbers but its huge, because LA is the biggest market in america.

That in itself will pay for kobe's deal. Further correct me if im wrong, but the NBA has a luxury tax system and not a hard cap.

As long as the lakers are willing to pay the luxury tax they can go over the cap as much as they like.

I hate Kobe as well, but I feel he got paid that amount for what all he helped the Lakers accomplish. The Lakers aren't/weren't in a position to compete for a championship so why not give the man what he's earned? Have you considered how much revenue he's brought to the Lakers franchise? Have you considered how much he's gonna bring in over the next 2 seasons? If they didn't have a cap, I'd expect Kobe to have gotten a ton more money. Making money > Winning a championship. Not every time but it is right now.

All these retarded comments about how much "money" he brings in. That's stupid as hell. What did he do for them before this Gasol gift? Oh he fills the seats blah blah, yeah so does Melo. The FACT is you make the most potential MONEY when you put a COMPETITIVE team that contends on the court. You think an old azz injured guy that has a sub 500 team will bring in the MOST money? It's just like MIA, they will have better things to do and the stars only show up courtside when it's front running season.
