I'd hesitate to call McConnell a top 5 PG right now because his still a little passive on the offensive end but I can see him becoming more comfortable. He has really good vision and is everything you would want from a college guard but it is tough to say top 5 when their are guys like Shabazz, Smart, Pangos, Craft, etc simply being asked to carry a bigger load. I think McConnell could definitely score more if needed but it is yet to be seen. Defensively, he is basically flawless. Watching him play D on a PG trying to penetrate is a thing of beauty.

It is cool to see him and DeAndre Kane at Iowa State playing well on nationally ranked teams tho. There hasn't been a notable player at the college level from Pittsburgh since Blair and DJ Kennedy really.

I think the best pro prospect is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Kid is dynamite on defense and brings out of this world energy. Just a game changer with his presence. He already has an NBA ready body, and just needs to develop a jump shot and he's gone.
