Yeah I heard phoenix offered him a small contract as the medical team advised against resigning him for a large deal, pretty much every team but the knicks had the same thinking.

Pretty sure the Suns offered him a 5 year 90 million dollar extension, which the 4th and 5th years partially guaranteed depending on his health/games played in those years.

If this team gets in the playoffs, that's where Stoudemire's real value is - as a sixth man who can come in for 25 minutes, get 15 points, and 8 rebounds. Most teams won't have that.

But getting in the playoffs is a big if.

He's been pretty good in extended minutes this season for us. If he could play 30+ min without getting injured he could still put up 18/7 type numbers easily. His athleticism is still there too, he's had like 5 posters this year.

He is the only knicks player i actually like (aside from artest years ago) so its frustrating to see glimpses of what he was here and there, knowing he will never be what he once was

Dude can stay play offensively.. But I don't know if he's a net positive value for a team at this point. He can't play serious minutes and can't defend. It's really hard to get some consistency from a guy like that.

He just won't be back... I was locked up when Carmelo joined the Knicks, I had absolutely no access to the NBA, I always thought in my head, "Oh man, mediocre defense, but the fire power from Amare and Carmelo must be crazy"

I come home this year to see a weak ass version... So disappointed.
