One of 38 players to score over 20,000 points for his career. Still no?

this question was asked in another thread, and pretty much everyone said no

That's cool and everything, but what has he done besides that? The answer is still no for me.
Not without paying for the ticket.

Mitch Richmond material I guess. I think there's maybe a few players above 20,000 that's not in the hall of fame?

Shawn Marion deserves it way more than him imo

Not even close.
A solid to good scorer and nothing else, literally been 100's of them over years.
NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

he has 20 k points i think 8 k rebounds and 1k assists in his career, only dirk and duncan and kg has done that and they are going to the hall of fame
so idk

Like I said in the other thread, he really wasn't that good. He scored a bunch of points on crappy 20 win teams and refused to play defense. He was never a guy who had that much of an impact on his teams.

He never had an impact like those guys you mentioned.

Just like the other thread, the answer should remain the same in this thread. A no.
Outside of Jamison scoring 20,000 points, he's made only 2 all-star appearances, no All-NBA teams or defensive teams, and had like 1 or 2 votes for consideration in 07-08 MVP voting. And on top of that was never in any major playoff moments or has any notable playoffs series that would change anybody's mind.
Good longevity, but that's it.

Career full of empty stats. Deep.
Homeboy has zero chance of making the hall. Why is this even a discussion

Basketball HoF is very lenient and scoring 20,000 speaks for its damn self. I say let the man in. Why not? Rose will get in, too, whether you like it or not.

Tom Chambers and Mitch Richmond aren't in there. Why should Jamison be?

Mitch Richmond should get in, though. He's a top 10 all time SG.

I always liked Antawn, but there are a lot of players on this list who were better than him that haven't made it in yet...

Mitch Richmond > Antawn Jamison...easily.
Mitch Richmond > Antawn Jamison...easily.
This. Mitch averaged less than 22 PPG only once in his first 10 seasons and he still averaged 21.9. Jamison was a good shooting big man who played no defense, couldn't handle the ball, and was next to useless if his shot wasn't going down. Mitch at least could handle the ball and play some defense.
Another thing not in Jamison's favor: Not a single All-NBA team. Mitch made the 2nd team 3 times, and the 3rd team another 2 more times. And that's with playing on shitty Kings teams.

If they let Vince Carter in then Antawn should get in. He had the superior college career and his pro career is pretty similar to Vince's.

And, all won rings as the MAIN piece (KG was that Celtics' MVP), while Jamison hasn't Eden sniffed a Finals as a 2nd, 3rd, or any option.
