Damn

For comparison

• The Miami Heat are actually 10 points per 100 possessions worse with LeBron on the court.

• The Oklahoma City Thunder are only two points per 100 possessions better with Kevin Durant on the court.

• The Los Angeles Clippers are three points per 100 possessions better with Chris Paul on the court.

• The Houston Rockets are three points per 100 possessions better with James Harden on the court.

This is one of those moments where stats let you down.

Anyone who tries to convince me a team is worse with Lebron on the floor is an idiot..

How is that even possible while simultaneously being the leader in PER?

Also, pretty obvious what they're trying to do and have been doing for a bit now. It's going to be hilarious when people turn on George.

Proof that all of you that get off on PER, per 36, this, that, and the third need to screw your head on straight. Statistics do not tell the whole story.

They have looked/played better in many games with Lebron on the bench. They usually have better ball movement and spacing with Wade slashing and kicking out to the shooters. What Lebron takes away from his teammates with his ball-dominant style sometimes surpasses what he gives them in return.

Insightful post, knicksman. Surely you know what it takes to win.

So if they traded him a rival, the rival gets worse and the Heat get better?

Send him to Indiana for a second round pick, and watch the Pacers crumble.

Here's the thing, stats are the domain of dorks, they look correct at times and hit the mark a lot, but they cannot account for knowing how to play a game.

Advance stats in basketball are hot trash. LeBron is far and away the best player in the league and anyone who says otherwise is a clown.

Kevin Durant is having a much better season than Paul George. If anyone deserves the MVP besides LeBron it is KD.

Durant has closed the gap quite a bit, and has a serious chance at MVP this season. So it's not far and away anymore.

Durant improving his D and passing is why it's closer but the gap is still large enough for it to be clear.

This is when the 2nd unit had beasly who was instant offense against the other teams 2nd unit. Since beasly's been out, Miami has struggled when lebron sits. You could see this for sure in both heat/pacers games.

Miami's bench/2nd unit when Lebron is resting (which includes Wade and/or Bosh, Ray Allen, Beasley, Andersen and Lewis/Cole) usually does well against opposing benchs/scrubs/2nd units.

When you have such a good lineup to go against the other team's bench/scrubs/2nd units, that's the definition of stacked.

This team wins if you replace Lebron with another superstar.

Spoelstra is just using them well, instead of resting/playing the entire starting lineup/Big 3 all the time he lets Wade and/or Bosh go to bench very early in the 1st quarter so that when Lebron rests Wade can be there and keep the pressure going especially now against the opposing teams worst lineup. Lebron will play only against the opponents main starting lineup and Wade will then play a little and go rest.

Its just good strategy, if they were not doing this Miami's 2nd unit/bench is actually poor at this moment.... Mason, Cole, Lewis, Anderson, Anthony....

....and this team wins what exactly if you replace Lebron with another superstar? A regular season game... sure... but not a championship.... Lebron is their best everything on both ends, scorer, playmaker, rebounder, defender, he leads in every category and can dominate essentially almost any position on both ends.... it all is required from him for them to win especially when it matters, especially in the playoffs.... so unless you can find a superstar like that..... like Oscar Robertson with Scottie Pippens defensive versatility or something.... then sure....

Actually, it's very logical, and it has everything to do with trying to play with Wade, who even in his deteriorating state is and always has been in many ways a smaller LeBron. Last year, the Heat were +21 with LeBron, +18 with Wade, and +3 with both. Those kinds of numbers DON'T lie.

Why are the Heat's 10 pts per worse with LeBron? Because Spo changed the changed the rotation pattern, and Wade leads the second unit. If you watch Heat games, that's when they get separation many times.

If LeBron was leading the second unit, the numbers would be flipped. It just goes to show you, how much better the Heat would be offensively with either LeBron or Wade (healthy) without each other. Defensively, they'd be worse, but it's likely the offensive boost would be enough to make it not matter.

They've managed to win titles, but they're a machine that operates at like 60% of its max productivity. Basically, they use James as the foundation, and Wade, who is a foundational player himself, to seal the cracks in the foundation. And it's been just enough to hold.

This just screams stacked more. Wade is indeed another foundation player, who can lead another team himself. Heat just has so much depth and star power. The only word that comes to mind after all this is: stacked.
