Last year, not a single player averaged 20/10. Looking like several players with a shot of achieving it this year.

Love
Aldridge
Cousins
Griffin
CP3
Wall
Curry
Anthony Davis
Carmelo

Who do you think makes it?

For sure Kevin Love.

Wall isn't going to make it. Don't really see CP3 doing it either - it's harder to get 10 assists with 20 points than 10 boards.

Griffin is falling fast. Cousins and Aldridge are just about there, but I don't see Cousins maintaining it.

If Aldridge can keep up his rebounding, he'll make it. Love is a certainty.

For sure Kevin Love.

He would seem like the most likely one on the list

CP3 and Love will keep it for sure.
Wall isn't making it.

Aldridge, Cousins and Griffin I don't know for sure.

Chris Bosh was a regular 20-10 guy before his sex change operation.

You forgot the white text part of your post.

That game where he was injured in the first half really took a hit on his ppg. Think he'll average around 18-10 this season - next season he'll start becoming a consistent 20-10 player with dominant defense ala KG and Timmy.

I don't see any guard making it, tbh

CP3 will get the assists for sure but I'm not sure about scoring, at least not until playoffs

Not a single player had 20/10? Weak era indeed. When was the last time that happened?

Curry is at 24/9, 28/9.5 in his last 5

it has little to do with this being a "weak era", which is such an arbitrary assumption to make. When does one 'era' end and another begin?

No, there are more tangible things that have happened in the NBA that can this can be attributed to.

1) The rise of the scoring PG = Less assists. Simple.

The 20/10 PG is rare to begin with. In the 80s the tempo of the game allowed PGs to both score and facilitate at high volumes. 90s, there were a lot of (arguably) HOF caliber PGs (Payton, Stockton, Tim Hardaway, Penny etc) and even they couldn't achieve this feat on a regular basis.

2) The "stretch 4". Not a lot of these players have a high enough motor to both step away from the basket, crash the offensive glass, and bet their get down the floor on defense. Most of these guys will shoot jumpers not just because of ability, but because it allows them to get back early to prevent the opposing 4 from beating them to the block/open spot on the floor for an easy bucket. Guys like Love are an aberration, not a lot of players can do what he does and it's the reason why he is one of the few "sure things" for a 20/10 season.

I wouldn't call it a "weak era," just different. In fact, just looking at the competitiveness of the league right now it's obvious that the quality of talent is as good as ever (maybe not in some respect ie. lack of dominant post offense but there is compensation with the super athletic PGs/strategic response to rule changes and the NBA wanting to free up perimeter play).

Oh and CP3 and Love will do it. Don't think anyone else will. If they don't have enough assists/game by now it will be hard to change their average. Likewise for 4s and scoring. I think Anthony Davis is gonna be a perennial 20/10 guy though, throw in 3 blks a game and a couple steals, dude is that good.

I wasn't serious, and that "weak era" argument pisses me off as well. It's still surprising to know that there wasn't a single 20/10 PF. That is awkward.

That's fair. And true, despite the rule changes, the disappearance of the 20/10 PF came a lot quicker than I expected.

Because Love was injured last year, do you even follow NBA?

Because the fact that Love's injury is what's deciding if there are any 20/10
PF in the league is a good thing, right? What was this post even trying to say?

If Carmelo pulled it off, it would be very impressive.

LMA was pretty close at 21/9 and David Lee had 18.5/11
