Game Thread: December 16, 2013: Lakers vs. Hawks, 7:30 EST, FSS TV

The Kobe Bryant comeback continues in Atlanta, where he will be going against Jeff Teague (if he is playing point guard again).

Hawks coming off of a bad loss against the Knicks.
Lakers coming off a win against an up and coming Charlotte.

Two teams who are basically having pointless seasons.

The Hawks could have signed a big free agent and struck out, and don't have enough scoring to secure the third seed in the East.

The Lakers have two aging HOFers, a coach who doesn't like either of them, another HOFer who needs to retire, and bunch of guys who probably won't be back next season.

Lakers easy win... Expecting a big game from Pau

Which team drafted Pau Gasol?
Which team traded him away for Shareef Abdur Rahim?

Maybe this summer, we might sign him to a 2 years, 20 million deal. He can take Elton Brand's spot, who needs to retire.

For this game, the Hawks are typically good in coming back after bad losses.
We should come out strong and win this game.
Teague needs to iso Kobe and drive to the basket. Teague has footspeed and quickness, while Kobe is still getting his conditioning and timing back.

Al Horford looks and moves like a giant, lazy tortoise. If he had a big shell on his back, I'd want to have an Al Horford with me for my kids to ride around on at the beach in 10 years.

I was all for riding it out and seeing where things go with the roster the way it is but something really need to be done. This is sad and maybe the PGs coming back will help slightly but the defense is horrendous.

This team just isn't built to be what D'Antoni wants it to be. It never will be with Kobe and Gasol on the team. Nor should it be.

Kobe is definitely a negative at this point. That was awful.

oh the horror
12-16-2013, 11:55 PM
Problem is...you got the guy that is coming in after a severe injury with a lot of new players he isn't used to playing with running the pg position

Kobe already has too much going on and should not be at pg.

D'Antoni once again riding the wheels off the guy. I was expecting him to be eased in slowly.
