Melo on Woody taking blame: "If he says it's his fault, it's his fault." Not exactly the vote of confidence.

Way to support your coach, Melo.

maybe it's better for melo to throw woodson to throw under the bus since it'll at least get ny's front office to consider changing coaches :oldlol: :oldlol: :oldlol:

I see nothing wrong with this. Coaches are constantly saying stuff like "he's got to be better. He's got to his more shots." That stuff is said after EVERY loss.

So when a team loses a lot and nobody says anything, one comment after an extremely bad loss isn't bad at all.

NY better have heard this and better act accordingly if they don't want Melo to walk.

I think Woodson needs to be fired anyway but Melo isnt totally out of fault here...

Woodson should have called timeout. Melo was expecting it when he slowly dribbled it into his rushed last shot. Why not call timeout on your own if the coaching staff isnt gonna do it? has that thought ever occurred to Melo?

Because Chris Webber. Timeouts are on the coach unless a player is really in a bind.

i noticed that too. Melo looked to the coach and got no response, so he went on. sure, he could have taken the timeout by himself, but there was enough time for Woodson to call it himself and he took the blame for it.

But WOW, teh Knicks a bad. Udrih to slow to foul, the coach to slow in mind to call a timeout and the team not good enough right now to win many games.

I am not a Melo guy at all but this is an example of the media taking a quote out of context. If you read the whole thing then you can see that he wasn't throwing the coach under the bus.

"If [Woodson] said it's his fault, there's no need for me to make excuses or talk about it. As players, we have to be smarter. We knew we had timeouts. I was just trying to get a shot."

It's one thing to call out a quality coach which is not the case here and it's another thing to call on someone for there bs which is the case here. Melo has every right to blame Woodson that was terrible, Melo/Pablo and Tim Hardaway JR are the only three player that fight on the Knicks team and they are surrounded by piss weak low IQ chuckers and a moron for a coach.

How could you not call a timeout in that situation but rather force Melo to chuck a contested 40 foot heave:facepalm. Seriously Woodson is making Keith Smart look good at this point.

OP is such a hater. You really need to find something else that your esteem is tied to bashing players. It's very female.

The question was on the timeout. That was Woodson's fault. Melo was in the huddle and no timeout, and getting ready to get the ball and he looked over, no timeout. You want him to call a timeout without his coach wanting one?

The question was on time timeout. You wanted Melo to lie and say it was him?

What does his stat line have to do with his lack of basketball IQ in that moment? He could have called a timeout at any moment just as the coach. Instead, he rushes Udrich to inbound the ball, casually advances the ball up the court despite only having 6 seconds left on the clock, and chucks the ball up off of one leg like this is some game at the Y.

Great player. Not a leader. If teams expect him to be the #1 leader and carry the load, they're never going to win.

Melo would be a great second option in an already established team. Melo doesn't have the mentality to be a leader.

He didn't rush Udrih to inbound the ball. He looked at the sideline first, and got nothing from Woodson. Tim Legler was on the radio this morning and said in that situation with under 10 seconds, it's 99.9% on the coach to call the timeout.

What a minute? For real. If Melo knew he had timeouts, as a veteran in the NBA he should of called one right after the ball went through the basket. Poor leadership and IQ. Woodson is a 2nd round coach and I'm not a huge fan of his iso ball style coaching, but if the players knew they had timeouts somebody should of called one.

The Knicks are a mess. :oldlol:
