View Full Version : Are NBA players wearing mouthguards smart or sissies?

Or both.

I think both, I don't think the league is that physical now to wear one. Players just don't lay out each other like the old days or look to injure each other with the new rule changes...

Sure.

The league I play in, I have copped a stray elbow or foot in the mouth diving for the ball...

I can count on my hand the number of guys who have lost a tooth playing in competitive basketball over here though...

I was watching Paul jostle his mouthguard around at the foul line that prompted me to make the thread. And of course, try and provide something different to talk about :confusedshrug:

I mean you have the choice and I guess that is a good reason.

Would players be willing to wear padded helmets to prevent injury?

:facepalm So in between all the practices, games, etc., you think they want to spend their time at the dentist for a painful operation?

Once you have veneers you are set.

White, perfect smile and a lifetime without painful tooth aches which you get with real teeth...

Plus you won't get rotten teeth you need to pull out, that has associated pain too...

Idk, rather just be safe and wear a mouth guard. I can't count how many times I've bit my tongue hoopin. But I guess it's all up to the player. :lol But don't be surprised when Stern comes up with a rule requiring all players to wear them.

have you ever been elbowed in the mouth? These NBA players are stronger than the local players in the YMCA.

I have not seen a padded helmet on an NBA player before. Ice Hockey Helmets don't count :oldlol:
