1. Search for Trade options for a back center and point guard
2. spend money on player development side for defense

Trade Carl Landry for a back up PG
Try package Landry/Thornton for a back up PG/shot blocking PF/C

Depends on the team, your not going to explore trade options if you dont have many tradeable pieces, that being said, i would prefer to invest in player development if i have good young players

For the celtics, im making a play for waiters and trade bass for a pick (low first round) then waiting till after the draft to make other moves.

Fire Mike Woodson.
Hire Lionel Hollins.
If I'm not 100% confident that he's coming back: trade Melo to the highest bidder in the hopes of acquiring a first round pick this year that would either be lottery or in the mid-teens along with at least two young players.

If you trade Melo, trade Amar'e to Boston for Humprhies and Lee (the deal Boston apparently wanted).
See if you can use Shumpert to move JR Smith's contract.

Start over.

Look I have the perfect fix-it situation for the Knicks that will set them up to contend for the future:

Sign Jesus as a gm and head coach:

He turns this season into NBA 2k14, turns trade override on and salary cap restrictions off,

Trades the whole team away for LeBron, Drummond, Cp3, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Dwight Howard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry, James Harden and Kwame Brown (to be the assistant coach) and the top 10 picks in the draft for this year and next year.

Turn off trade override, change it back to real life,

Win the title this year, draft all the good rookies, send them to d-league and win the d-league title and multiple NBA chips,

Knicks will go down as the greatest franchise in the history of the game

Glaring obvious move. I can't believe Hollins is still on the market.

To be honest, I don't think he would take the job if offered. He knows he'll get the first job he wants this offseason.

Can you get Vince Carter? Need some veteran leadership, and he's my favorite player ever.

If so, you're hired.

Extend Monroe(when able) and trade Jerebko for Courtney Lee. Boston shaves a year of salary off in the deal, plus a mil over the next year and a half. I think they do it. We need a 3 and D guy in the mix.

no pun intended

The only players that would still be on the Knicks after the Nuclear Explosion would be Tyler, Murry, Hardaway, Beno. All others would be scorched and purged....

1. Force Nash to retire
2. Let Gasol walk
3. Pressure Kobe into getting Wilts record of 100 points in a game

I want those averages to look good. **** winning. After Kobe's deal is done we can focus on that.

3 way trade LAL MIA BOS

LAL sends Gasol, Nash
LAL receive James, Rondo

MIA sends James
MIA receive Gasol

BOS sends Rondo
BOS recieve Nash

LeBron fakes an injury which forces him to miss the rest of the season and Rondo sits. Squad struggles and tanks, we give Stern/Silver an envelope on a sly and draft Jabari Parker. Resign LeBron when his contract expires. Tell Kobe to retire for medical reasons, he gets paid but it doesnt count to the cap. Kevin Durant decides to take his talents to LA.

Rondo - Durant - Parker - James - Sacre

I would probably try to convince my owner to make a very lucrative under the table offer to Lebron James.

Dump: Deng, Boozer, and trade Noah for pieces. Tank for the seasons, hopefully get lucky twice and land home town boy Jabari Parker. I don't see the point in floundering trying to win, or play hard, and get stuck in basketball purgatory as a 8th to like 4th seed with no chance of actually winning a championship.
