Boston or Lakers, seeing how they've got a long history.

Usually the fans of teams you don't really hear from. When it comes to teams like the Heat and Lakers, since there's so many of them that you see, they represent the fan base, so people say they are not knowledgeable.

Nobody says that about Milwaukee fans, Toronto fans, Spur fans, ect.

Lakers fans no doubt.
Have to agree. Since the time I've been here(You can tell I haven't been here that much judging from my join date and post count) all I've seen was Lakers fans owning, out debating, dropping the knowledge on Heat and any other fans standing in their way.

Spurs yes. Toronto.... ehh. I dont think so. Most people in canada pay zero attention to basketball. The other thing is, is that a ton of tickets that are sold in toronto are actually corporate tickets, given to random clients in effort to make business deals... consider it a form of ass kissing. This results in a LOT of people going to games that haven't got a clue or any appreciation for the game. I do wonder, if other big cities do this to the extent that Toronto does.

I can't say I know a lot about Toronto sports, but I find the Raptor fans here to be pretty knowledgeable.

They're devoted, yeah. Actually all toronto sports fans are. Toronto Maple Leafs have the highest ticket sales and prices in the NHL yet the Leafs are one of the biggest scrub teams since 1967 (the last time they won the stanley cup).

But T.O. is also the only city in Canada with a basketball team so it will have an effect on fans.

Knowledgeable fans are independent of teams I'd say. It's just an interest for the game.

The only thing I'd say for certainty is that there will be the dumbest (and most likely to troll) fans from the bigger market teams and/or teams with great players in the past and/or teams with a rich history of success. I mean, you don't really find many Raptors or Bucks fans trolling...

Spurs might be the exception. Rich history, not much trolling or stupidity coming from them.

oh my, is it me or does anyone else hear a sucking sound coming from this thread?

Anyways keeping the discussion confined to ISH I don't think any fanbase can claim to be the "most knowledgeable"... There's plenty of guys here that know their stuff on various aspects of the league...

Pacers have a couple bright guys, as do the Bulls, Lakers have quite a few as do the Mavs, Knicks and Blazers... Those are just a few off the top of my head... I imagine we could list at least two for every team if we wanted to work that hard... Some fan bases are not very well repped numbers wise but still have a couple smart folks

Indiana, Portland, and Boston.

LA, NY, and Chicago basketball fans are as dedicated and hardcore but more generally misguided. Too much media influence.

Also Wake Forest, playing in the shadows of those teams, have had some great players in the association - Tim Duncan of course, and other guys like Jeff Teague.

While there is some truth about corporate tickets, that's probably just for the seats closer to the court. There are a lot of basketball fans in Toronto. The last game I watched live vs the Spurs the game was pretty much close to a sell out.

All time maybe was Baltimore Bullets. Only place I ever saw referees stop and jerk their heads around because the fans had called the correct play that they missed themselves on the court. It happened a few times there and it even got to be a problem at times because the Bullets coaches got in a lather about it. Seems like there was an article about it in Sport Today or one of those ancient yellow rags we haven't seen in years. Is there even a quality sports magazine left in the world? The internet is cool and all but there was something about leafing through pages of great writing about the NFL or the AL or NBA

Currently it might be OKC tho in spite of the lack of background in NBA they picked it up fast. Seattle was real high ~ maybe it followed the team by osmosis?
Some okc supporters on ish are real good but as far as this forum it's probably Lakers although they unfortunately also display the most dismal dregs. :lol
That dude inspiredlebowski is a shameless Pacers addict and can bring it at a level seldom seen. He single-handedly makes up for the barren Indiana landscape of Ish
