First off, how did that bitch get that job? I'm sure it paid well.
Second on, how can a bitch be in PR and not know what is or isn't appropriate?
Last but mostly least, she is ugly. Makeup does wonders, but receding hairlines on women look horrific. Only LeBron can pull off the giant forehead look. All others are failed attempts at looking LeBron-esque.

I just have absolutely no idea how anyone could think that posting that on Twitter would be a good idea let alone a PR executive. Deserves to be fired just for being so stupid.
Best part of the story is she posted this at the airport then got on the plane.. Inflight she was unaware a crap storm was brewing on twitter and when she landed before she got out of the airport her boss had called and fired her

If she was an interior decorator or chef maybe her boss lets it slide if they want to be nice. But a PR exec has to have better judgement. Her job is all about managing public perception. People in that field are of questionable value at the best of times and she went and did something that demonstrates she may not know how to manage her own PR.

She's representing a company and posted this stupidity on twitter. It's up to the company's discretion if they want to fire her and yes she should be fired for being stupid enough to post this on twitter.

Yeah, but that article makes clear that even among white Europeans, very few people have this resistance
Throughout the history of the AIDS epidemic, a few lucky people have avoided infection despite being exposed again and again.....
Genetic resistance to AIDS works in different ways and appears in different ethnic groups. The most powerful form of resistance, caused by a genetic defect, is limited to people with European or Central Asian heritage. An estimated 1 percent of people descended from Northern Europeans are virtually immune to AIDS infection, with Swedes the most likely to be protected. One theory suggests that the mutation developed in Scandinavia and moved southward with Viking raiders.
.....
To be protected, people must inherit the genes from both parents; those who inherit a mutated gene from just one parent will end up with greater resistance against HIV than other people, but they won't be immune. An estimated 10 percent to 15 percent of those descended from Northern Europeans have the lesser protection.

The I'm white was the cherry on the top of her sundae of ignorance and privileged insensitivity. It was also a WTF moment for me, because who thinks like that? White People don't get AIDS? That's news to me. It doesn't even make sense.
Given that she was visiting her family in Africa and not just some idiot tourist, she should have known better. It's like saying, I'm going to Africa, I hope I don't get eaten by a lion.

Yeah, obviously, but stuff like this devolves into hearsay, and people believe all sorts of shit they never bother to substantiate.
It's like in that weed thread where just because some of the compounds in cannabis have been shown to have medicinal properties, you get morons exclaiming the stuff to be 'natures medicine' and that it's perfectly healthy to toke away at high grade your whole life. Yes, millions of people suffering & dying from a terrible pestilence & millions more friends & family lives affected think joking about AIDS(& their suffering) is just hilarious.
What other diseases/tragedies does a PR exec find hilarious besides AIDS?
She WAS a public relations executive(whom her own father called 'an idiot') looking for business opportunities in Africa with a population that doesn't find this disease funny.
What's next children with cancer, dysentery,polio,malnutrition,tsunami victims,etc.........?
Must I remind you that she is a Public Relations exec looking to expand business opportunities in Africa? The 'I'm White' stuff is nearly irrelevant.

But let's face it, this country is too overly sensitive. The race thing probably won't die down until the African-American community stops listening to Liberals telling them that the white man is bad and is holding them down. So I can see her possibly getting disciplined for that. But for making a joke about the undisciplined continent of Africa spreading AIDS like no other country in the world is not that serious.
There is no discipline in Africa and the entire continent is corrupt. There are far more serious things happening in Africa like slavery, terrorism, massacres, etc.. I don't think a comment about Africa alone, not including the "white" part merits her to be fired.

What? Did you miss the part where a PR exec made a tasteless AIDS joke on twitter? The white part is essentially irrelevant. :biggums:
Read my posts from earlier to understand this response.
With the way our society is now, terrorized by the "race card" bullshit, there was no way she would have come back home and kept her job. Race and race-baiting is so prevalent in this country, that Liberals and race-baiters must keep the race issue alive in order to make money and to stay relevant.
So i pose the question, should she still have been fired had she just made the joke about Africa and AIDS? I say no. Let's face it, Africa is a mess and it's their own doing. No white man, white country, white devil or anything else put them into the situation they are in now when it comes to AIDS. They are careless and irresponsible. So, technically, while making a joke of it, she is correct. Africa is the AIDS capital of the world. She joked around on Twitter about it like you or I joke around about it around the water cooler, and like comedians (primarily black) joke around about it in their comedy shows. There is no difference.

Correct. Which is the reason I think she's fired today. She, as naive as she may be or not, represents the company wherever she goes. I haven't seen her Twitter account, but if her company name is on her Twitter page, then it's fair game. This is more or less the same thing as what transpired with Duck Dynasty and A&E.

You have contributed greatly to this thread. I sound like the bigot? I am merely explaining the reason why people like her and the guy from Duck Dynasty get into the situations they are in. The country is obsessed with victimization. We have become a culture of victimization, oh woe is me. This is why groups like the ACLU and the LGBT community otherwise known as the Gay Mafia misinterpret people like Phil Robertson and then go on TV and Radio and preach about their oppression and do everything in their power to discredit someone or a group of people.
But you wouldn't understand this or see this cause you apparently live under a rock.
I don't find what she said about Africa (not including the "White" reference) offensive in the slightest. These are things people say to each other on a daily basis. If you cannot joke or take one, you're doing it wrong. Should she have been fired? If she represents the company in a negative light? Then, yes. Case closed. What's your argument again??

This has nothing to do with victimization. It has to do with people in public speaking positions talking crazy and getting fired. The gay community has a lot of $$$ power and if they do not take kindly to people telling them they are going to hell and likening their lifestyle to beastiality [sp] it is their right to voice that sentiment because no one wants to spend advertising dollars with someone who doesn't respect them. Seems like you're the one being too sensitive and whining over trivial shit.

Phil Robertson also said that blacks were happier living under Jim Crow laws.
Now, this isn't victimization, it's companies looking out for themselves. Justine's employers had every right to fire her. She was representing them and she said it in a public forum. Blow up the fact that it sparked this sort of controversy, yeah, I don't blame them.
Phil's employers have sponsors, viewers, and a bunch of other things to worry about. The gay comments alone were going to piss some people off, so I don't blame A&E for realizing that there was going to be backlash. And yes, A&E have every right to suspend him. It's business.
