Not exactly sure why people want to see top players do dunks. I mean, I could see if it was in a game, but just watching Lebron, etc do dunks that other guys probably can do better, is not that enjoyable to me.
Let's say Lebron does do the dunk contest and wins. Then what? Does that mean he has to come back again to defend his dunk crown? If so, there's really no way he could top whatever dunks he did, in the previous dunk contest, to wow the crowd and make for good entertainment.
People have seen almost every dunk imaginable and humanly possible. Let some other guys get some lime light, add some gimmicks/props to make it more appealing, and hopefully people can still get some type of entertainment out of it.

Meh. He's definitely a great in-game dunker so I'd like to see what unique dunks he can do, or attempt. But I see exactly why he never enters, people are going to over-hype it to oblivion.

He'll probably hire a 5 foot 8 guard to dunk over while attempting to take a charge.

I agree. With this entire post. But it doesn't mean LeBron has the right to troll, dick tease fans in true attention whore fashion if he has no actual intent on ever participating. He's said, and confirmed he will participate like 2 or 3 times now already then bailed at the last second like a true flake.

2005 - 2010 was the window for this. After the age of 25? I don't think so.

And the game winning dunk goes to Lebron who bulldozed the obligitory modern-dunk-contest-church-choir that were positioned to take a (no-call) charge from him in front of the hoop!

2010 was 3 years ago. let it go. Cleland is already a shitty city. why increase your sadness by crying over a basketball player?

Why is he such a *****? There's literally no chance he loses the contest. He could miss every dunk and probably win. Even worse than missing, he could do his normal boring tomahawk on every attempt and he will get all 10s.
These guys need to do the contest before they become untouchable superstars. Paul George was one year off. Vince Carter and Michael Jordan capitilized at the perfect moments in their careers. Kobe was too early. Wiggins needs to do the contest 2-3 years into his career.

Let the best player in the league decide what he wants to do. Whatever LeBron does, it's going to be a lose-lose situation anyways.
If he doesn't participate: "He's a *****"
If he does participate and loses: "He choked"
If he does participate and wins: "He didn't deserve it, ___ got robbed"
Not really worth doing it, just keep winning dem' chips.

I won't believe this until I see him on the court about to attempt his first dunk in the dunk contest.
I really don't won't him in it cause he will win no matter what type of dunks he does. Just like Blake Griffin did

The 'Kia Dunk' over the front bumper of a Kia while a Choir sings in the background is one of the greatest in history though I thought? :oldlol:

That dunk contest was so blatantly rigged. It's disgusting.
I bet we would see similar ad placement if Lebron was in it. "Lebron does a one handed windmill while talking on a Samsung phone!!!"

Dunk 1: Wade throws the ball to Lebron for him to do regular dunk 48/50
Dunk 2: alley oop for Bosh to Dunk it in 47/50
Dunk 3: Lebron drives all the way to the rim and passes for Ray for the 3 50/50

Lebron = same tomahawk dunk everytime. Sure he has the physical gifts to win the dunk contest but imagination? you will be lucky if he copies BGs dunk over a car... :facepalm

Lebron has been criticized for doing the same dunk everytime, but in fact he has done pretty much all kinds of dunk on the court, windmill, reverse etc.etc.
I think Josh Smith is the one who does a lefthanded tomahawk 99/100 times.

no. he will try to dunk over a truck but bulldoze his way into it instead, punching a hole through the truck. the truck would be called for a blocking foul and kobetards would cry Lebron travelled.
