... pulled the "I'm better than you" and the smug demeanor on live television.

... and to the "what year it is" thing, it's new to me; haven't seen it yet. In all likelihood, that means others haven't either. There's nothing wrong with sharing something you find interesting. There is something wrong with simply being a douchbag just to be a douchbag.
"Hey look at me! Someone posted something old and this is a prime opportunity for me to be a jackass - point out it's old - dance around on what I believe to be his grave because I got him so good! - sheer pwnage baby! - OOOOOH! - GOTCHA! Thanks for the lob GOBB, now let me jam it home and put this mutha****a to rest! Damn we're sick!
=)
Just let me post something. Reserve your I can't wait, I must do it, let me get giddy and roast this guy! ... stuff. It does nothing except allow you to post some cutsie customized office-like inspirational photo and the outcome isn't exactly all that great. Rather weak, actually.

Richard Sherman is an asshole
This, and he was acting like he was winning the debate too, but he was just making himself look like a douche.

Wait. What? I posted something that isn't new. Something that didn't just happen. Something that some folks have already seen (some, not all, if everyone had already seen this, I wouldn't even bother). You're still (and will forever be) in the business of doing whatever by whatever means necessary to diss LOJ in a douchebaggery manner. Dude still that bitter. Dude still that stung. Dude still that on these nuts. The grind continues. The grind is endless and relentless. Now and forever.
OOOOOH! GOBB killed Joshy! Time to make a new username!
:dancin
This, and he was acting like he was winning the debate too, but he was just making himself look like a douche.
That's what's so ironic about it all. Sherman was highly confident he was on the "winning end" and showcasing his greatness to the world by supposedly backing Skip into a corner and smashing dude. Stephen the whole time was trying to move the whole thing forward as a means to salvage anything he could from the self-pwnage grave he had already dug himself into.
The sad part of it all, Richard probably viewed the video later nodding his head thinking he roasted Mr. Skip Bayless and earned mad respect within the sports media realm. I normally hate Skip and almost always favor on the side of Stephen A. on their show, but this case in particular Skip was destroying his opponent without having to virtually say anything.
Skip Bayless lost any and all credit he once had after pulling that bitch move of being all over Kevin Durant's nuts HARD - then after Durant made the statement Skip doesn't know shit, he suddenly switched sides and from that point on went to great lengths to talk shit to/about Durant at any and all opportunities (just as GOBB and many other posters towards LOJ. Real talk, real truth - this happens all the time; posters making fun, dissing, going hard at dude for no reason except the reason of hate, when it should be the season of love, LOL). I just wish everyone would let me post in peace without making anything and everything I post into an argument by derailing/hijacking things.
The meltdown Skip Bayless endured is blatantly obvious at any and all times the topic/discussion of Durant comes up - just as at any and all times the topic/discussion of LOJ comes up GOBB and many other posters are right there adding their $0.02. Doing whatever it takes to sink and bring me down. Call it fear. Call it anxiety. Call it homosexuality. The end result is the same - obvious hate towards anything and everything they'll never be, have or experience. So what do they do? They attempt to annihilate something greater than themselves. It's human nature, so let little boys try their best to dethrone the rightful one who rightfully sits upon his commode as he shits on those who secretly desire to wipe his ass instead of being on the receiving end of them bombs being dropped. (this paragraph is primarily said in jest - the LOJ dicksucking but witness how many fail to get that)

I think Richard Sherman is hoping everyone forgets about that entire segement. I never thought anyone could make Skip Bayless into the sympathetic figure in an argument but then that happened. It was cringe-worthy how big of a moron Sherman came off as. Apparently he's not a dumb person but his loud mouth sure made it seemed like he was.

To some degree, he articulates himself quite well. He isn't a complete and total moron - that's obvious. I think in this particular case, he couldn't formulate his words the way he wanted. He focused too much on the point he was trying to drive home, which was he talks too negatively about too many athletes and that he was going to be THE ONE to come on national television and do something about it - and as a result he shot himself in the foot.
... and like I said, he's so full of himself he probably watched the video later and still thought to himself he roasted Skip and in the process achieved instant respect within the media sports world, whereas in reality all the ESPN analysts, fellow NFL players, etc were doing the whole cringe thing. Hopefully, one of his close friends had him to sit down so they could have a heart-to-heart with dude, and reel him back into reality.
You're just now seeing this?
*sigh*
LOL.
Yes.
I don't see every single episode of First Take. Honestly, does anyone see 365ish episodes of that show, any show, on a yearly basis?
:confusedshrug:
Is there any way you guys can find the kindness in your hearts and souls to forgive me for missing one taping and seeing it many months later on YouTube? I know it's asking a lot, but I was hoping if at all possible I could be forgiven since it's so close to Christmas, ya know?

I think he didn't know what he was saying at all, he just kept saying "my tape is my resume" and just kept recycling the same crap through the debate, for someone who bragged about how educated they are you would think they could articulate themselves better. He just comes across as a cocky brat.

I find Richard hilarious and refreshing.
Dude isn't just some run of the mill bullshitter. He backs it up.
OP. Go watch dudes videos of him mic'ed up. It's gold.
Dude got socked in the mouth by Trent Williams after a game and laughed it off. This dude talks shit and backs it up on the field. Stop over-analyzing the situation and shitting on dude. You come off as jealous or bitter or just straight up delusional.
How is it missing one episode? This video went viral. You dont have to watch first take religiously to have witnessed or heard about Sherman and Skip. :confusedshrug:
Cant wait for your thread on how much money Pujols signed for.
Cant wait for your thread on how cool the Game of Thrones concert was.

He's one of the best corners in the game. I give him that, but to be from Stanford not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box.

I'm usually pretty up to date with stuff. I end up seeing an older video from a taping that happened many months ago. I get flammed for it. Not everyone has seen it. I wanted to share for those folks and for the many that I knew already have seen it and maybe wanted to possibly discuss. Yet, nonetheless, it turns into more of an argument rather than a discussion b/c right off the bat you have to be an asshole. Ironic you talk about periods, you can't ever seem to get off yours.

You went through this much trouble to post a thread without the video link you tool. Could have just bumped the thread, then quoted/replied to posters.
You'd look less of a jackass imo.
Anyway since you want a civil convo because you cant handle my two wittle posts you big bay bay. Nothing Sherman said was wrong or off. And as of today? His is still better at LIFE than Skip Bayless given the fact he is arguably the best CB in the game. Definitely the best this season.

LOL, wow, you're just going off the deep end now. No one does that, and you know it. You're just reaching for anything you can to be a legitimate dipshit. News to me haha. Never seen any advertising/reviews, nuthin.
O and for this thread, fck Richard Sherman. I ain't even takin away from his ability to play the position. he's damn impressive with prototype for the 'new' cornerback build. Tall, lanky, athletic.
He's just a giant shit head when he opens his mouth. I get the strategy in game, to throw the receiver's focus off, even if when he does, he sounds like a buffoon. One a bigot or racially impatient would say, 'typical n!gg**' about when he's mic'd up.
Off the field, The dude isn't even 'keeping it 100', he now just tries to play into the image the media has created for him, regardless how authentic it is to that moment. He wants to talk about how intelligent he is, yada yada yet still plays right into a simple narrative that those with power of influence have created about him. Not very helpful for a dude who wants to be taken serious as a SCHOLARLY athlete. Some would say, "he prolly doesn't care what people think about him," but it's OBVIOUS from certain appearances, reiterating of his Stanford education, that he cares very much about the dichotomy of being a 'smart' man and a total shithead to his opponents
p.s. I've seen and heard Sherman speak where he's jovial, relaxed and carries himself like a very respectable and intelligent person, regardless of career. It's really his own doing that all many people know of him is being a shithead.
Nothing Sherman said was wrong or off. And as of today? His is still better at LIFE than Skip Bayless given the fact he is arguably the best CB in the game. Definitely the best this season.
Sure. Anyone telling someone else they're "better at life than them" is moronic and foolish. It's impossible to measure and a statement said as such is entirely personal (just as Skip Bayless pointed out). Sherman made a fool of himself, not Skip making a fool of Richard, Richard making a fool of himself. Both Stephen A and Skip tried to raise the question about Revis and he kept ignoring it, saying it's irrelevant when it was totally relevant. Again, Sherman in the wrong.
Your resume doesn't speak for itself when the topic is about who's the best corner in the league... other players are going to come into play until you at least defend your argument that you are the best, which he didn't do. You said he was the best THIS year, but the debate was about last year. Sherman was clearly in the wrong here during this particular debate. Everyone seems to understand this except for you.
You argue a man is better at life because of the position he plays and is the best at said position. That's bullshit and you know it. Sherman being the best corner doesn't make him better at life than Skip Bayless or any other human being. That would be like me saying I'm better than you at life because I'm the best poster on this board. Best poster is irrelevant, doesn't make me better at life than you, unless you want to believe that twisted logic then be my guest. I'm better at life than you. Going by your logic you said it, not me. That is being a tool.
... and no you're not a better poster than me b/c you have 50,000 posts (Jesus Christ, talk about someone's life you sure as hell don't have one, or much of one) ... just because you value a keyboard more than your dick doesn't mean you're a better poster. Why do you type 50,000 words to make a point? You seriously need to invest in a f*cking journal. Before bedtime just open up. I could see if it was a 50,000 word post on something meaningful, enlightening. Sadly, rarely the case. I'm going to address the first line and skim the rest to see what is worth of a reply.
Sherman telling Skip he is better at life than him wasn't meant to be taken literal. No more than you telling us you're the best poster, you're this that and the third. The irony is you are taking what Sherman says to heart when you utter similar nonsense on this board no? Skip Bayless is a dbag, a tool. He constantly shyts on people and has become a shock jock so to speak on first take. Why else is he paired with a loud, overly opinionated SAS? No coincidence there. Jalen Rose attacked Skip as well. He did so to prove a point. Why is it when athletes attack back there are the bad guys? Its Skip Bayless. Same guy who when Chris Bosh had a CIVIL FACE TO FACE CONVO WITH SKIP said "I find it offensive when my familys name is used in jokes. The Bosh names means something to me, its personal". Then Skip proceeded to say I will continue using BOSH SPICE. But here we are nit picking, poking what Sherman said. I dont get it. If it was someone respectable? Classy? Ok. Skip? Why should anyone care. Sherman said what he did to rile up Skip. After he proved his point he attacked Skip credibility then I am better at life than you. It was hilarious to see the big mouth who usually is the one attacking on the defensive and shut up.

To me Sherman is a troll. I think he says/does things for attention to promote/market (if you can say that) himself. That is why I feel he went into the rant of I am better at life than you. He also did something else to support what i'm saying but I cant think of it offhand. A bit buzzed. He says things to rile up folks. I dont know if he wants to be the villain or bad guy. But he wants to be noticed, mentioned. Attention whore may be the perfect word. I dont think he is serious with his comments. Thats my take. I wasnt offended or viewed Sherman any different myself.

I've seen it. I was just joking. and yes Skip Bayless is a POS. Ever since he pulled that being so butt-hurt after the diss from Durant when dude was on his nuts so hard I had to stop taking him the slightest bit seriously.
Why does Stephen A continue to be on the show with him after he pulled such a bitch move towards Durant? Skip has made a personal crusade to go after Durant since then and I rarely see Stephen A say much about it when it's way more than obvious he isn't "objective" as he claims to be.

The most embarrassing part about that is Sherman struggling to find the words he wanted to use.
Dude sounded like a little kid who had finally built up enough courage to tell his mom why he disagreed with her but when it finally came time he could barely manage to get out more than the first sentence of the obvious bullet points he was trying to hit
You guys don't remember when Kevin Durant told everyone Skip Bayless doesn't know what he's talking about? It was on some post-game interview when the suggestion that Westbrook was taking too many shots was brought up. Durant was something like "Skip Bayless? Man that dude don't know nothing about basketball" ... and since then Skip has resented now talking about how great Westrook is, that Durant was nothing in the playoffs with him, etc. I can't believe you guys didn't see this.

Yea Skip does come off as a grown man who is passionate about sports, knows a good bit about them (he has followed them for decades as career, even if he comes across like a reg fan sometimes) BUT is still insecure about athletes cuz he never had the talent to be anything.
He's prolly the guy who STLL has bedtime slumber dreams of being an NBA star, All Pro running back, etc. and kills him when he awakens that he was a non factor as an athlete.
Truth be told, he isn't even a cut above any of the sports people on television. Y'all remember when Mark Cuban came on the show and intelligently, calmly sonned the shit out of Skip?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAkVnlA9CJo
Made Skip look like your everyday, assumptive dumbass fan who has no idea what an in situation strategy is actually like from the outside but still has a platform to voice whatever ignorance comes into his mind
Yeah, but let's be real, is it THAT bad?
Why shouldn't he be a bit salty? He praised Durant to high heaven and then Durant clowned him for no reason. How is he supposed to act? His entire show is based on personal opinion. These are not facts. It's sports. He's allowed to be bias.
If Bayless can have a bold negative opinion of someone, so can Durant.

Made Skip look like your everyday, assumptive dumbass fan who has no idea what an in situation strategy is actually like from the outside but still has a platform to voice whatever ignorance comes into his mind
I read an article about him that detailed his personal life. He is a huge creature of habit. He basically does the same things, and eats the same foods, on a daily/weekly basis, with very little deviation. He is obsessed about winning sports debates, and his prep work is insane whereas I get the impression that Stephen A.Smith kinda just shows up and goes with whatever. Lots of lingering childhood issues appear to have shaped him
Also, they say he is a lot different in person than he appears to be on TV (as most of those guys are, I'm sure).
Myself, I find the show to be entertaining. I have avenues to turn to if I want hardcore sports info. Occasionally, I like this format, though I don't, or could, watch it daily.
Here's the article:

Thanks for the further insight mlh.
As odd as it seems to read a thorough article of a damn sports media figure, it makes sense to do in certain instances. This would be one of the considering how the general opinion of him in the internal workings of pro sports is a hated man. He's not really well thought of by the public either. Usually it's more of a mixed bag.
edit: Lol the above is basically the headline of the article

i remember seeing that and thinking cuban came off knowing about as much about dissecting offensive and defensive strategy as bayless did. not to say he didn't have a point, which was that the typical skip (and espn) analysis of sports is really insubstantial psycho babble that mostly boils down to a fictional narrative of a player's demeanor or some complex that drives him to failure or success.
it was kinda like that jon stewart take down of crossfire, ever see that? when he goes on the show and tells carlson and the other guy that they aren't really talking about politics as much as they're talking about people talking about politics. skip is mostly the same, he doesn't talk about sports so much as he turns sports into reality tv.
and don't get me wrong, that's a talent in and of itself. not one anybody would take public pride in but it is the reason he's popular. i hate him as an analyst but i still like watching him an smith jaw with one another because its funny and kinda simple in an entertaining way.

he's the villain dude. that's his role and he plays it very convincingly.
i actually just listened to a really neat interview of a producer for the canadian version of pawn stars. it was absolutely fascinating. reality tv is such a paradox given that 99% of the public disdains it and yet it gets amazing ratings. but that's because of how its made. "is it fake or is it real" isn't the question. it's mixed.
this producer talked about the casting of the shows in particular. the people who seek out these roles are definitely looking to build a name for themselves by becoming a larger than life character, but it isn't like method acting. the people who get the part are already "like that" to some extent. they exaggerate real aspects of their personality and that's how they get the part, because it's authentic to some extent. that's why reality tv is such an interesting name for the genre.
he said as soon as he saw snooki on jersey shore, he thought "this is a chick who is trying to make herself the face of the series". and that's exactly what she did, for better or for worse.
sorry for the digression but i think it's a good analogy for skip.
