He'll definitely make it, considering the weak competition

The main omissions I see from the East are Evan Turner and Jeff Teague. Thats just off the top of my head...I can't really complain about the top 5. However, Garnett, Chandler and Pierce obviously don't belong there. I don't see too many issues with the rest of the East.

At least Nash has played a few games this year. Either way, it's not a big deal. Obviously both are popular enough that some casual fans are still going to vote for them, but neither one will make it. That type of stuff doesn't bother me. It's when players who barely play because they're injured most of the year get voted in as a starter which is what's going to happen with Kobe.

All of them can play the positions they will most likely be assigned. Dwade will probably be PG and hibbert at C

How is Hibbert going to be starting if he's not voted in as a starter though?

And which backcourt player are they going to kick out of the starting lineup despite the fans voting for them? Just kick out Kyrie despite having nearly double the votes as Hibbert? :oldlol:

Never said I agreed with it dude, it's a stupid way to vote for an exhibition game, but that's the NBA for ya. LeBron at C in the all-star game will just push his supposed "GOAT status".

And about Kyrie not deserving it, what guard in the East does? 22/6/3 (albeit with only 41% shooting so far) with an improved defense, career high in assist-turnover ratio when he already made it last year. I don't exactly have a problem with it, maybe Wall deserves a mention but that's about it.

KG215
12-26-2013, 05:27 PM
And now they've gone and f**ked it up to where the starting frontcourt for one conference will feature three SFs. Oh, and not to mention how the media and talking heads will shat themselves as they orgasm talking about how awesome LeBron was playing center for 5 minutes in an exhibition game and how this proves he's the most versatile player ever.

Agreed. Should be Wade-George-Bron-Melo-Hibbert starting imo but unfortunately the way the fan voting is, this isn't going to happen. Should be some fun small ball for the East to start though.

Kyrie has been playing All-Star level basketball for the last month or so. He deserves a spot.

Whether or not he deserves to start? That's debatable, but who really cares?

His December averages are off the charts...

27 points on 47+% FG, 38+% 3PT, 95% FT
7 assists
1.3 steals
2.3 turnovers

Include his much improved attention to defense and it would be a snub if he weren't in the game.

Well, LeBron is certainly more hated and thus would get less votes because of it. Being famous isn't always correlated with being popular.

Stop. Kyrie is bad now. He's just cancer. That last two seasons were fluke seasons. This stretch is also a fluke stretch. If his numbers line up or are better than previous years, it's just another fluke season. Nothing to see here.

The only reason he makes it is because there's really no competition in the backcourt of the East.

Turner and Teague should be the starters by production. Then you got guys like Lowry, Stephenson and Affalo all of whom have been consistent all year. You can't just ignore that and give it to the guy who's had one hot month.

There have only been two months in the season, though. :oldlol:

When you take that into consideration, "one hot month" is pretty damn important. Otherwise, you'd be putting too much emphasis on one below average month, right?

Teague doesn't have much of an argument outside of being on the better team. He's averaging far less points on worse efficiency. He is averaging 2 more assists per game, but also more turnovers.

You can argue Turner if you want, but their numbers are very comparable and Kyrie has actually led his team to a better record.

Again, Irving has been playing All-Star level basketball for a good portion of the season. He deserves a spot.

If anything, his increased exposure has hindered him in the way he's evaluated and the expectations now in place.

Here's the simple truth... The Cavs have doubled their wins from the same point in the season a year ago. There has been a significant improvement. And, they are still the second youngest roster in the entire NBA.

Meanwhile, Kyrie is putting up more than respectable numbers, averaging over 21 points per game, along with his best assist/turnover ratio in his career and his best season defensively by a pretty wide margin. His scoring efficiency is down, but I'd say the other stuff may outweigh that end of his game... And, as I said, he has been one of the best players in the league through December, so he's trending in the right direction.

It seems that people who don't watch certain players on a consistent basis tend to go with whatever was happening at the start of the season. Kyrie started off the year very poorly, but has since righted the ship and is playing consistently well at this stage.

Meanwhile, the Cavs have improved as a team by a large margin.

Yet, there is this expectation that, at 21, he and his team have to be on par with the biggest superstars in the league or he's a disappointment.

I don't get it.

No, I don't give a shit about Nash because he's nowhere close to even sniffing a starting spot. Kobe is. I'm pretty sure I made that clear in my post but, then again, reading comprehension isn't something a lot of Kobe fanboys posses although it's a very basic life skill.

It's A VC3!!!

I feel like LeBron should have more votes. Paul George just exploded on the scene this year and already is nearing him in votes. Kevin Durant is about to eclipse LeBron too. I say it's "surprising" because LeBron is a two-time champion and has so much more exposure than the other two players. Hmm, oh well.

Chuck is right then, Heat fans are faker than a three dollar bill.
