They spent years building, chiseling, bolstering, an ego through their achievements through many facets of life (wealth, humor, skillset, athletics, education) which come directly from the way Greeks debated and took part in athletics which came from outwitting and outmuscling people in the art of hunting.

Women are more adaptable, flexible, more.. get with the times. They can change their opinions, beliefs in an instant.. in a sense they are formless like water. The pros is that this aids in survival. They can take more psychological uncomfortable abuse but they can't take lonely apathy. Which is why most hermits have historically been men. The Y chromosome is pretty awful from an evolutionary standpoint. It's non-recombinant, so we basically receive a clone of our father's Y chromosome. This means that there is no way for us to retain beneficial alleles, while weeding out the useless, or malignant alleles. In addition to this, it's more likely to create errors each time we reproduce, and then it conserves those errors, until they're so bad that they render the carrier infertile.

I don't think there's any evidence that women are actually more willing to submit to conquerors. Once conquered, women are more likely to reproduce, and their offspring are more likely to eventually become integrated into the conqueror's society, but that doesn't have anything to do with their psychology. It's simply due to the fact that female slaves are more likely to be impregnated via rape.

They're largely focused on male characters, and glorify martial virtues. Women are generally either merely objects which the men wish to protect, and possess, or they're scheming, manipulative witches.

If by classics you mean the entirety of the "western canon" then I suspect women read more, simply due to the fact that they read more fiction in general.
