I can't be the only one who keeps forgetting he exists :oldlol:
The source is from another forum I probably shouldn't mention here, but he's back up to 223 lbs after being at 206 post-surgery.

This dude is 7'0" and WAS 206 lbs? How's that even possible? I don't even think Durant weighed that little when he first got drafted.

I think he was hovering around 215 in college, but dropped to 206 after the ACL surgery. So it looks like he's back to his regular playing weight now.

Many great bigs have started out thin like him. Bill Russell started out at 215, David Robinson 226, Kevin Garnett 218, at least half the great big men that have ever come and gone were only between 215 and 230lbs when they first started.

It says 206lbs here. That's insane. Even a fresh out of high school, rail thin KG weighed more than the dude.

That number is a bit deceiving, because the doctors specifically told him to lose as much weight as possible to reduce stress on his knees. He did exactly what the doctors asked him to do and then was sort of mocked for it when he got on a scale for the pre-draft measurement.
His playing weight is around 220, which isn't all that uncommon even for a guy pushing 7-foot. And, reports were that he was back up to the 215 range even before the draft.
You bring up Durant... He was 6-11, 215. They have very similar frames.
Others with similar frames coming into the league...
Ersan Ilyasova - 6-9, 209.
Taj Gibson - 6-10, 214.
John Henson - 6-11, 216.
Joakim Noah - 7-0, 223.
Kevin Garnett - 6-11, 217.
Keon Clark - 6-11, 220.
Anthony Davis - 6-10, 222.
Meyers Leonard - 7-0, 215.
Navr Mohammad - 6-10, 220.
Larry Sanders - 6-11, 217.
Chris Wilcox - 6-10, 218.
Thad Young - 6-8, 210.
Noel's weight will not be a problem, imo. He's still very young and will fill out. A lot of guys on this list played 3-4 years of college ball and were in their 20s... still weighing in the 210-220 range.
I still think he was the best player in the draft by a significant margin and was the no-brainer No. 1 pick for me. I guess we'll see...

He doesn't need to be big. These days we regularly see 3s playing 4 and 4s playing 5. Almost no one knows how to post up. Follow KG's example and slowly work up to the 240 range.
He's 227 now not 223. I want those 4 extra lbs my friend. :lol
Outside of knowing his weight and that Brown has totally changed his jumper from scratch? No clue what he is up to nowadays. I guess he just lifts, eats, rehabs? Is he working on post moves? With/against who? How does his new shot look?
I think he will fill out to be Noah/Chandler size. I wonder how strong he is right now.
If Sixers can draft Embiid. What a nice duo of bigs to start with. :pimp:

Randle/Noel/MCW would be sickening.

Randle/Noel/MCW would be sickening.
This, especially if Randle can develop a 12-15 ft jumper ala Elton Brand.
GOBB I was at the home game vs the Pelicans around Thanksgiving and watched him shoot around before the team drills. I'm hoping they've made breakthroughs in the month or so since then, because it was really just not a good shot form. No fluidity, with a hitch at the top of his jump and the release on his way down. I'm okay with him playing a 'Mutombo' rim-protector and close range finisher role, but we're gonna need another big that can shoot mid range if we want to keep lanes open in the paint for the other guys.
I like Randle as well but he hasnt shown much of a jumper. Doesnt finish with the right. Turns the ball over too much. Whether he gets stripped, forces the issue because he cant recognize a double team quick enough. Then again he's only a freshman who hasnt finished one full season of college ball. He can develop, improve. Not like Embiid is a finished, polished prospect. I just dont think I could take Randle over Embiid. If Embiid was gone I'd take Randle.
Randle/Noel do compliment each other. And MCW/Randle/Noel would be sick.
I dont know, I jumped on this damn Embiid train. My thinking is BPA over need/fit.
I could change my stance to something else by seasons end. :lol

Embiid has the start to a pretty good jumper, I could see that. Either him or Noel would need to turn into a banger though physically. If we picked Embiid and they could both get above 250 lbs, that interior defense would be absurd.
So many 'ifs'. Too early to tell IMO, but exciting nonetheless

I haven't seen enough of Embiid to comment about him vs. Randle. I do think Randle/Noel would produce a nasty combination of offense/defense/rebounding that would eventually dominate any frontcourt in the East. Randle may not use the right much and may not have a jumper right now, but his game still has a lot of room to grow and the things he does well, he does very well.
Whether it's Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Randle... if the Sixers get a Top 5 pick this year, they have a great foundation with Noel/MCW already in place. If Noel is as good as I think he is, that may go down as one of the great drafts by a single team in modern NBA history.
Now, they have the chance to follow it up by getting a high pick in an absolutely stacked draft class.
Good stuff from their front office.

Am sure he's not only adding muscle, but they are teaching him how to play basketball. So he will be more prepared next season. This is a like a red shirt year.
