The Avengers show is stupid as f*ck. I watched an episode for the first time today and I couldn't even finish it. Shit is beyond corny.
Even the action they show is badly choreographed. I don't know if every episode is this bad, but yeah, this one was pretty bad & has effectively turned me off about the show.

I don't watch tv much beyond NBA games, so I guess I'll stop there. I can't think of any other shows I've cared to watch that disappointed me.

What about you guys? Name some.

Couldn't finish the first episode of Boardwalk Empire.

Agents of Shield could have been much better if they just stuck to storylines from the Comics. It shouldn't be a show where they have new conflicts every episode. Should be a set story through the whole season.

What about shows that you thought would be bad but turned out to be good? For me House of Cards surprised the shit out of me. One of the best first seasons.

Another couple of shows I just remembered are the following:

Revolution
I saw the entire first season. It wasn't great, but the concept of the show was cool. The first season is pretty much the main characters trying to find another one of the main character's younger brother. Warning: Spoiler ahead. Not that it matters.
How does the second season start? The brother gets killed right after they rescue him. So that pretty much means the entire first season was about finding someone who becomes completely irrelevant the second season. WTF? :facepalm
And to top it off, they began putting some senseless black magic shit in every episode. One of the main characters can suddenly see things through the eyes of birds or some shit. I don't know. I lost interest extremely quickly.
The first season wasn't very grand, but it seemed like the show would develop into something better. It just became shit, though.

Weeds
First season was great. I got hooked fast.
Second season onward was pure f*cking garbage. Absolutely garbage. If you haven't seen this show yet, just avoid it. It's retarded.

The Walking Dead. So much potential, but ruined by terrible character writing.

It has its moments where characterization is lacking, but I don't see how it ruins every bit of its potential. The storyline still unfolds engagingly with exciting events, the action scenes are believable and intense, and its atmospheric world feels very authentic. Many times I've felt the world it creates right outside my door as I get involved with what's going on.

The 4th Season's mid-season finale

I thought heroes was going to be epic after the first season. It lost my interest in the second season.

Dexter had my interest up to the 3rd season

Homeland just got incredibly stupid.

Supernatural was good for the first 2 seasons

I thought the event would be good (so wrong)

Dexter was terribly disappointing from season 5 onwards. I still enjoyed seasons 5, 6 and 7 though. Season 8 was just terrible in every sense.

Most shows do. Still not reason enough to dedicate time to a sucky show.
Porn has tons of hot females nude. Why not just watch that, seeing as all you care about is the presence of a hot female.
More action and better acting in porn, too. More plot twists.

How would you know about the quality of a show you haven't really watched? Whatever, keep being a dipshit. The show has high ratings, but not everyone is going to like it. Some were disappointed because they thought it was going to be just like The Avengers, and you seemingly fall into that category. It's not some action-heavy, 'shiny object' show for teenagers like you.

Couldn't finish the first episode of Boardwalk Empire.

I don't think Boardwalk is bad, it's just kind of deceptive. You see the quality of the actors involved and it has Martin Scorsese's name attached to it and you think "this should be bloody awesome", but it very rarely rises above being a decent show.

I thought this thread was more about shows that sucked when they first started, rather than good shows that declined. If we are going by that criteria, Hell on Wheels went from awesome the first 2 seasons to a big steaming pile of shit the 3rd season. I rooted for a season 4 just for the chance that they don't end it on that crap.

There was a show called "Blue" that came out several years ago and featured a lot of HBO actors. It wasn't very good.

I really don't have good expectations when it comes to new shows because most of them predictably suck anyway, especially sitcoms.

What other show besides 'Breaking Bad' continually elevates in quality with each passing episode? It literally got better with each new episode and got me more and more hooked. Never experienced that with a show all the way through.

The only slight setback it may have had was "Fly" in Season 3, but it was still an enjoyable episode.

I would have to see a complete list for the past couple of years. There are quite a few that I thought that would make it but didnt. Or started ok but went haywire.

Fringe was solid then got weird...

Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23 it was quirky

King & Maxwell was an ok show though it would survive.

Copper was good then just seemed to get lost. Very well acted show.

Alcatraz had an interesting premise was curious how things were going to tie into together.

I hate my teenage daughter was cool.

The Finder Duncan died

Hung I liked it soft porn with no real story

Prime Suspect I liked this show cant really remember

Rob it was too unbelievable but it had its moments. I like Eugenio Derbez from spanish tv funny guy.

Terranova I thought it was going to be decent.

I stopped posting for the past 10 or so months. Besides, you think I give the slightest shit if a dipshit like you knows who I am? I'm not here to make a 'name' for myself like low self-esteem people seemingly need.

You can't even handle a small debate without throwing insults. Wow. Talk about pathetic.

Sorry, didn't know I was dealing with an overly sensitive emo here. You've been acting like a dipshit in this thread, so I called you one. If you can't deal with what is a rather tame insult for the Internet, then I don't know what to tell you. 'I watched half an episode and then declared the whole show is garbage'. That's a half-assed, dipshit type of opinion, is it not?

And you think I give a f*ck about be ratings? 2 & a 1/2 Men used to be the most watched sitcom not too long ago.

Those aren't the type of ratings I'm talking about. Not viewership ratings, but quality type ratings. Positive reviews by critics.

Notice how I'm not the only one in this thread saying the Avengers show is garbage.

You mean people are actually being negative about something on the Internet? No way! I'm aware that the show isn't everyone's cup of tea. I even mentioned how it's gotten a bit boring in my first post.

I'm not going to debate with a child, though, especially a bitch made one who throws insults because somebody doesn't agree with his opinion.

Really, I'm the one acting like a child? You might want to try pulling your head out of your ass. And really, you were going to debate about something you know next to nothing about while also saying things like "seeing as all you care about is the presence of a hot female" showing a lack of reading comprehension? Is this the type of brilliance I'm going to be missing out on? I'm heartbroken.

Here's your 15 min of internet fame, bro. It's over now. Go back to being irrelevant.

Oh, you're one of those types. Cute, how I'm the child here... I'm glad you feel that you're somehow important on here for some unknown reason. 15 minutes of Internet fame? Where do kids come up with such asinine nonsense? Seems like I pegged you quite well as being a dipshit.

Agents Of Shield was a big disappointment. I say this because I did not expect it to be great in the first place, however it managed to squeak under the bar I already set low in the first place.

The casting is bad. I know they are supposed to be appealing to a young audience, but Coulson's lead agent looks like he is 25 years old. His stoic right hand, is just....boring. I understand having a character like that but you must exude some type of charisma, (ie. Chigurh in No Country for Old Men). You have other formulaic characters like the quirky science geeks, at least the girl is hot, but not enough to keep me watching.

Also, I'm not a fan of the episodic show structure. Also after watching cable shows like GOT/Spartacus/Homeland etc, this show is just flat and unimaginative. Very dissapointing considering the heads behind the show.

Yeah, they were able to save the season with the finale but you could see the writing start to trail off during the bulk of the season and it only continued after that.
