Everyone want's to subtract a team's championship for X and Y reasons and I think it's a bunch of jealous hooey but for the sake of argument how many asterisk titles are there that people make arguments for?
2013* No westbrook?/Lucky shot by Ray?
2012* Lockout year?
2010* No perkins in game 7
2009* Garnett hurt
2006* Wade getting bogus calls. especially in game 3
2002* WCF game 6 fiasco
2000* WCF game 7 fiasco
1999* Lockout year
1994-95* No Jordan
Seriously people help me out. Flush this out. How many titles can you put an asterisk on if you really starch searching for em. Can you expand on the ones i've already laid out?
(Keep in mind this is not a tacit acceptance of the idea of asterisk titles.)

They are all 'asterisks' because there is no season when an important player doesn't get injured. The whole asterisk argument is completely idiotic; you'd have to be brain dead to think it held any validity.

1992. Knicks/Bulls series.
1993. Barkley injury.
1996. Expansion.

I agree with you that there are no asterisk rings. I'm ok with trying to "flush out" the supposed asterisk rings. But to mention a player hitting a shot he's hit (literally) more than any other human being EVER as a reason for an asterisk? Come on.

All rings are legit rings.
Only that when talking about a player's career and achievements on the alltime list, the strength of their competition has to be taken into consideration. You are not gonna be looked upon favourably if you are playing on a superteam and you are struggling to beat your limited competition.

Exactly. This is why Jordan's rings will never be as impressive as Bird as Magics. He never faced a team in the finals on the level of them.

All rings are legit unless it's proven that deciding playoff games were fixed. Of all the years 2002 would be the closest to an asterisk, but there's no tangible proof so it should be considered valid for now.

"Lucky shot by Ray" is now the stupidest thing I've ever seen on this message board. Smh. It wasn't a half court heave or a bank from middle of floor. It was a step back three from arguably the best goat pure shooter. 100% skill. GTFO.

This. That line was so dumb, nothing comes close.

None, except maybe for the times when teams got jipped by the refs.

So 8 of the last 15 championships should have asterisks?
Damn the NBA's legacy must be real tarnished. SMH. F*ck outta here, there's no such thing as asterisk seasons. You win a chip without cheating (like, paying off the ref, some huge conspiracy theory or something) then you deserve it.

Magic and Bird never faced a dynasty on the level of the 60s Celtics, so their rings need an asterisk as well.

Who did the Celtics beat that was so impressive? The 84 Lakers? With 24 year old Magic, 36 year old Jabaar, 22 year old Worthy, and Rookie Byron Scott?
Didn't the Bulls sweep the Pistons then beat the Lakers 4-1?

I do see the OP premise. Im constantly seeing excuses as to why teams lose in the Finals or win depending on your point of view.
Truth be told, all teams are banged up by the time they reach the Finals. Its a marathon not a sprint.

For pure curiosity why do you say 1992 Knicks Bulls series?

1988: Touch foul on Laimbeer in game 6., Isiah was injured, Laker fans rush court with game still in play in game 7. Magic trips injured Isiah, no call.
1989: Magic gets injured. Isiah likes to say he beat Bird, Jordan, and Magic this year on the titel run but only Jordan was healthy. Bird didn't even play.
1990: All Bad Boy Pistons titles get asterisks because of ultra-dirty play. Pippen's migraine rendered him useless for game 7.
1991: Worthy and Scott get injured. Worthy distracted from his arrest for soliciting 2 undercover cops. Apparently he wasn't getting double teamed enough in the post.
1992: Magic gets HIV
1993: Charles Smith gets mugged and no call.
1994-95: Jordan retired or rusty
1996: Horace Grant injured, he killed the Bulls the previous year
1997: No-call on Pippen hanging on the rim in game 6.
1998: Eisley clearly hits 3, shot clock violation. Harper gets 2 points for Bulls despite shot clock running out.
1999: Strike year
2000: Duncan injured. Kobe gets a foul call late in game 6 when he barely got touched.
2001: All Laker titles from 2000-02 get asterisks since Shaq was allowed to commit offensive fouls everytime he got the ball. Practiced Muay Thai elbows on opposing centers.
2002: NBA gave the series to the Lakers over the Kings. Bibby gets called for a foul because he attacked Kobe's elbow with his head
2003: The Spurs and the Nets playing in the Finals automatically warrants an asterisk because it's the Spurs and Nets.
2004: Shaq and Kobe fight.
2006: Refs and the NBA give the title to the Heat. Wade commits backcourt violation, offensive foul, and gets awarded 2 FTs on a phantom foul.
2008: Lakers injured
2009: Nelson comes back at half strength and half a brain.
2010: Home team Lakers get 37 FT attempts compared to 17 for Boston in game 7.
2012: Durant gets fouled and no-call in game 2. Home teams always win in OT, and rarely blow 2-0 leads, except for the 69' Lakers (asterisk there because Wilt was hurt), 77' Sixers (asterisk b/c team was fighting), 06' Mavs (fixed series).
I left out 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2013 because I am lazy. Every year gets an asterisk.
