Agree with the good but not with the lengthy. Parker doesn't seem greedy. His current contract is only 4 years about 12 million per year which is a BARGAIN for a top PG in his peak years. I'm sure he could have gotten 6 years out of them, but he was accommodating with the length because nobody knows what's going to happen in the future (past TD and Manu).

He's just so used to being on a winning team and there's no guarantee of that when TD, Manu and Pop leave. They keep winning so they draft late - hard to rebuild - although Leonard, Green and now Bellinelli seem like gems. Splitter, well, is who he is and Mills has played well this year - but that's not enough in the cut-throat West.

He's turning 32 in this year's playoffs and 33 after next year. He's going to pursue something like his previous contract again and possibly even more. Pretty sure Duncan and Ginobili retire in 2 years or at least limited role players. If he's not going to get $55+ million, he's leaving. Book it. It's never been his franchise so there's no need to stay put.

Tony will still be a solid pointguard as he works into his mid 30's. I see him transitioning into a sort of Jason Kidd role as his speed and athleticism decline, especially if he can continue to improve his three point shooting. It would truly be weird seeing him on the Spurs if Tim, Manu and Pop are all out of the picture. The only way I could see it happening would be if the Spurs throw a ton of money on him in order to get him on board with the rebuilding process. By the Spurs "taking care of him" he means getting a big end of career contract like Tim and Manu have recently gotten, and there's no doubt that'll happen.

It would be interesting to see him move on and play with a contender somewhere else though. I think the only other place he would want to play would be New York.
