His first couple mixtapes didnt even sell. His big break came because of Lil Wayne. Thats when he started to blow up because of Wayne popularity.

I'm saying that being in the industry around people that will actually talk to you and deal with you is a leg up on someone who can't even get a meeting with people because they are a "nobody."

Lil Wayne is more likely to talk to a guy with ties to the industry and a tv show than he is a smuck off the street.

People like to build their own story about my life. I don’t know if it makes them feel better, or if it makes it okay for them to not like me, but the last thing I grew up as was rich.

I had rich friends, but they weren’t giving me their money. I’m just not the type of guy to go ‘No, no, no, I’m not rich.’ People can say whatever they want about me, though.
